Great add-on to my dust collection system.

The dust right system is exactly what woodworkers with small to moderate shop sizes need. It's super simple to operate and all the pieces fit properly. I would love to see Rockler offer a "crevice" tool accessory to the Dust Right System.

Works very well with the Dust Rite handle. Can't think of a way to improve this particular attachment.

Works well with the flexible hose for cleaning of benches and machines, although a smaller attachement for the hose to get into smaller areas of machines would be a good addition to go along with the bench nozzle.

The brush part of the nozzle mostly serves as a filter to keep all but the smallest shavings from being picked up. With any reasonably powered dust collector the suction is strong enough to pick up anything that's not tied down without having to use a brush to dislodge it. The brush can be removed with a little judicious prying. To keep the nozzle from being sucked down tight on the bench or floor I epoxied two 1/2" long pieces of plastic rod 'Nylon 1/2" bolts' at each side of the nozzle opening in place of the brushes. Works great.

The nozzle is part of a system comprising also a stretchable hose (4" diameter, ranges between its collapsed three or four feet and around 20 feet) and an interface joint with a handle. On balance I'd say the system does what it is represented to do, but it is substantially clumsier than I would wish. Had I tried it out in a demo, I don't think I would have sprung for the seventy or seventy-five bucks for it. Here are some of my experiences you should consider. The hose works well enough; its large diameter gives a good air flow, but it's heavier and bulkier than I imagined. The vacuum inside the hose naturally continually makes it strain back toward the outlet. There is no tendency for the hose to collapse radially, owing to the substantial wire coil inside its walls, but this advantage is paid for with the weight of the hose. The brush itself works well enough, serving the main purpose of its stiff bristles' keeping the entrance aperture off the surface so that it does not suck down closed. You do need the brush along with the hose to prevent that. I would be happy with a 2" or 3" diameter version of this product, but for most of its applications I think I'll revert to towing my Shop Vac around.

Editor's note. To clarify, this is not a system that is being sold in this offering. #34581 is the Bench Nozzle only.

"Every time I have been in a Rockler store around the country I have left feeling that I received wonderful service and most always had exactly what I needed in stock at a fair to great price. the only complaint, if it can be called that, is that I have to drive over 45 minutes to reach the nearest Rockler store. My wife probably appreciates that distance, as I am certain that if one was as close as I wished it to be, we would have very little left in our checkbook!"
