Generally product is as expectected. Fit inside 4" drain pipe compression fit which secured blind rivits and duct tape. Note: always ground plastic systems inside and out!!!

I've been using both the 4" and 2.5" almost 5 days a week for about 6 months now with no problems at all. The only issue was the connection is slightly tapered so I had to use a couple of small sheet metal screws through the hose into the gate to keep it from slipping off even with a clamp. Once that was done I've had zero maintenance on my dust system.

We have several of these 4" Stablegate blast gates that we have been using with our Grizzly dust collection system pretty heavily for several weeks and find them excellent. We have no had the problem of particles collecting in the track.

These plastic wall mountable blast gates are inexpensive, and they work well, but there is one problem: particles tend to collect in the track and after a couple of days of heavy use, they get so clogged they won't close. They have to be taken down, disconnected from the hoses and cleaned. They can't be taken apart, so you are forced to reach in and clean the tracks with a nail or something similar, which doesn't work very well. I've taken to banging them repeatedly on a hard surface which eventually shakes loose the particles. Metal gates which can be taken apart and brackets add up to about four times as much money. You get what you pay for.

I bought both the 4-inch and 2.5-inch versions of this blast gate for my dust system. The 4" version I like, the 2.5" I do not. The 2.5" model (#20129) is terrible in so many ways. I haven't found a single hose or fitting that fits snugly to the the port on either side of the gate; it's just the wrong size. Too small for 2.5" and too large for 2". Furthermore, the gate doesn't clear the hole when open; it blocks as much as 20% of the passage in its most-open position. Finally, the whole apparatus is much larger than it needs to be (the photos all show the 4" version). Made in Taiwan. Despite being very similar to its smaller cousin, the 4" model (#32020) is much more useful. My 4" hose mates nicely with the port, and the gate clears most of the passage. It has a nice click when open, and doesn't move on its own. It fastens to my wall securely, and is a good piece of gear. Only complaint with the larger model is that it is made in Taiwan. So, the 2.5" model gets 0 stars and the 4" model gets 4 stars; average is 2 stars.

I have used these quite a bit for about a year and they work as advertised. The problems are that they clog constantly and they have to be removed to clean them. It is a real chore to clean them as the debris gets very compacted in the grooves. I have also had 2 of them split. Just purchased the metal gates on sale and can see that these will be much better. They will still need cleaning but all you have to do is unscrew a couple of screws. The metal gates are very much worth the additional money.
