Banksia Pods

Used by Woodturners. Unique for their numerous openings and voids (always turn toward center). Interior figuring once turned is similar to Bird's Eye. Color and texture similar to Walnut Burl. Easy to turn or cut. Relatively hard towards center of pod and will take detail nicely. This item is the seed pod from the Banksia tree (an evergreen tree which grows in Australia).
