I really like the accuracy achieved with this but I too am concerned that it will bend very easily and lose it's accuracy. I made a vinyl case to store it in along with extra lead and pencils.

I will admit that you do have to use these rulers with care as they are rather thin, but they will hold up to more one would first think. The 4 corners can be a bit sharp, so take care there too.
With that being said, rulers like this are a great way to increase your level of accuracy down to 1/32".
Instead of trying to use a regular pencil, finding that it needs to be sharpened once again or breaking the point off, I found that a 0.5mm mechanical pencil works great with the small slots for each of the 1/32" marks and is well worth the investment into one.
I have the 6" unit and find that I use it all the time in laying out projects..

Highly accurate, however, I handle it very delicately because I feel like I'm going to bend it and leave a kink in it. I wish it were just a little stiffer.
