This jig opened up a whole new world of joinery for me. Simple straight cuts is all it took to build this bed system in my garage. I used Kreg joints to build the entire cabinet as well as the drawers. No hard-to-cut dado's on the big side panels. I did not use any glue and the cabinets and drawers are very strong with only the Kreg screws. I am very happy with the ease of use and quality of the jig. I have used it on many projects and is an essential part of my woodshop.

Already had the handheld jig. After using this one, I know that I will not be using the old one very much. It is a great tool that really allows me to be creative and create strong joints. No woodshop is complete without one.

Ditto all the other praises of this tool. Short story is the Kreg Jig is essential to every wood worker's shop. It creates tight, professional looking joints with minimal effort. One thing to remember, though, is to ALWAYS use glue. Wood is a dynamic material and it moves with changes in temperature and humidity. Never forget glue! The screws are simply clamps that hold the pieces together while the glue dries.
My Kreg jig is one of the most important tools in my shop.

Best accessory I've bought in a long time, has already paid for itself with the time saved over having to dowel my rails and stiles. I have found that if you're using soft wood it would behoove you to set the clutch on your drill to a low setting, I use a Dewalt 18v and set the clutch to 5. this snugs the joinery very well but won't over counter sink the screw
recommend : YES
If I would give it 6 stars

As a beginning woodworker intimidated by some of the more intricate forms of joinery, I decided to try this jig. Initial impressions were that the kit was high quality and easy to understand although I wish the scales on the jig itself were easier to read. After doing one trial joint, I decided to make a stand for my benchtop router table. Within an hour, I made a basic but perfect stand. The pocket holes were easy to drill, and flawless! I really can't recommend the kit highly enough, although I do recommend the Kreg Right Angle Clamp that's available.

I am brand new to woodworking, but was already uneasy with the idea of joints. Mortise and tenon, dovetails, rabbets...I didn't exactly want to dive in and experiment. I made a simple coat and shoe rack for my garage, and it turned out great. The joints were perfectly square, and solid. If you're a newbie like me, this jig will bolster your confidence quickly.

I wanted to buy cabinits for my work shop but they were either to exspensive or did not fit my needs so I put it off for a long time. Then one morning I saw the Kreg Jig advertised on TV and a light bulb went on in my head to build my own. I started building the day it was delivered to my door. What a great tool!!! It took me half the time it normally did to build my cabints, no more glueing and clamping which took forever. The other great thing on one of base cabinits I put the face together wrong and with the Kreg System I was able to take it apart and redo it. That alone paid for the tool. Again what a great tool!

This was the first time I have built cabinets - I made six. The Kreg pocket hole jig made the work of built the door frame easy. My purchase was justified at twice the price. I had a DVD from Woodworker's Journal showing how it was done. The DVD that came with the Kreg jig helped also. I would not want to build a cabinet without this jig. It can also make building picture frames just as easy. It will look professional and I am not professional at all.

I am new to woodworking and can't imagine building something without it. I'm glad I found this before I spent a lot of money on a biscut joiner. This cuts down on the need to measure for biscuts or dowels.

This tool allows someone with the most basic woodworking skills,to add a professional touch to their jobs.

Simple, Fast and Accurate. What more could you ask for. I used it to build cabinet face frames and I was able to mount the frame to the carcass right away. Everything came to get up and running including some screws and a DVD. Very happy with the tool.

I got tired of fussing around with different and complicated joining systems. I bought the K4 and was amazed with how quick and easy it was to set up and use. My first project was making a bakers rack for my daughter. Didn't use a nail number one for the major connections. An outstanding product that you will not be disappointed with. No shop should be without it!

Great tool! Easy to set up and use. Joints are tight and strong. Used it with stainless steel screws for building a new mahogany interior for my Boston Whaler. The angle clamp and face clamp are a must have for making almost any joint.

The jig was easy use and I was able to create a good looking face frame on the first try. The DVD was helpful in getting started. My only suggestion is to pick up one of their face clamps, that really made the work go quickly.

I have been using a very simple Craftsman pocket hole jig for about 6 years and have built a lot of things with it. I finally had to give up on it after I used it on my most recent project, a shoe rack-bench. The drill sleeves were so worn I "blew out" two holes on some 1"x3/4" wide stock. (I was still able to finish the job though.)

I ordered this K4 kit and my eyes lit up as soon as I opened the box and saw all the features I had been missing all these years!! One of the important new features is that the drill-guide is adjustable up and down for the thickness of the workpiece, which are marked on the guide. Also a slot and markings on the base make it easy to adjust the drill-bit stop-collar. Also has a dust port.

Finally, the drill-guide can be removed and used in hard-to-get-to locations. And since it can be removed, if the guide holes wear out, you can buy a replacement for the guide and not the whole system.

Amazing! I tried the jig out the day I received it...so easy to use and the applications are MANY!!!! Now I can do my next project, a 7 drawer 24" x 251/2"x 30" thread cabinet with confidence and professional results much quicker.

Just thinking about getting this amazing jig?....don't hesitate any longer! GET IT!

I do theater set design and build sets for the Charlotte Players here in Port Charlotte. This tool and the magnetic bands have given us so much help it is quite incredible. We screw everything together so we can take it apart after the show is over and reuse it, so we are always handling screws and looking for quicker and better ways accomplish this task. Thanks to Rockler tools, my job is much simpler.

I bought the K4 with the screw assortment. I showed it to family who were curious, not knowing what the contraption was. My wife asked me to build her a shelf unit for the garage so instead of screwing it together as usual I used the K4. In 3 hours I had her a nice looking (garage quality) shelf unit 5' X 7'. Curiosity has turned into amazement and my son-in-law wants to know where I got "that thing". (I need to order a bag of those white pocket hole plugs because it looks like termites got to the shelf though).

This is a great tool! I own the basic kit that I bought about 1 year ago and decided to upgrade to the more substantial benchtop model. This is one sturdy unit. I clamp mine down to my bench but it can be easily mounted permanantly. The measurements are there for you and it is a no fail system for secure and solid joinery. I highly recommend this tool.

I am by no means new to woodworking and I was pleased to try a new-to-me wood-joining tool. I watched the CD several times before any attempt at using the Kreg. First off I saw that the scale on the plastic body was not easy to see. I began practice runs using standard 1" stock. When one stock is placed exactly at the end of another stock,on a 90 degree angle, the screw tips are visable on the edge. I backed off on hole depth but this did not solve this problem. Also the Kreg hole plugs would not even come close to fitting. It's like the angle of the drill guide holes are off. Next,I will back away from the edge of the stock receiving the screws and not place the stock with holes at the perfect 90 degree edge where the 2 pieces of wood come together.I have already double-checked all aspects, like length of screw, depth of drill setting, etc. I will continue to practice in hopes of better results. So far, I am not satisfied with this product and would not recommend it to anyone.

This is a really well engineered system and I concur with all of the five star reviews. As with all shop work there's always some danger you don't expect. I held the jig down on my bench grasping it with my fingers on the back side and not thinking about what's back there, managed to touch the very sharp exposed drill, slicing off a little bit of finger. Ouch! Don't make this mistake. Clamp it to the bench if at all possible

I tried pocket screws on a ceiling dust collector/air cleaner carcase. I was surprised how smooth it went!
It was a little uncanny, though. It seemed like it went together TOO FAST! It seemed like I was missing something. I DID! I missed waiting for any glue to dry! That was a real pleasant experience! I plan on using pocket screws more often now...it will be be the first thing I think of when thinking of building something! I LOVE it!
There is only one peeve I have... all of the lettering, numbers, etc. on the jig are just plain... not white like you see inpictures! I've gotta figure a way to get them white! Way too hard to read...and the light must be just right before one (me) can read them!
