This jig opened up a whole new world of joinery for me. Simple straight cuts is all it took to build this bed system in my garage. I used Kreg joints to build the entire cabinet as well as the drawers. No hard-to-cut dado's on the big side panels. I did not use any glue and the cabinets and drawers are very strong with only the Kreg screws. I am very happy with the ease of use and quality of the jig. I have used it on many projects and is an essential part of my woodshop.

Already had the handheld jig. After using this one, I know that I will not be using the old one very much. It is a great tool that really allows me to be creative and create strong joints. No woodshop is complete without one.

Ditto all the other praises of this tool. Short story is the Kreg Jig is essential to every wood worker's shop. It creates tight, professional looking joints with minimal effort. One thing to remember, though, is to ALWAYS use glue. Wood is a dynamic material and it moves with changes in temperature and humidity. Never forget glue! The screws are simply clamps that hold the pieces together while the glue dries.
My Kreg jig is one of the most important tools in my shop.

Best accessory I've bought in a long time, has already paid for itself with the time saved over having to dowel my rails and stiles. I have found that if you're using soft wood it would behoove you to set the clutch on your drill to a low setting, I use a Dewalt 18v and set the clutch to 5. this snugs the joinery very well but won't over counter sink the screw
recommend : YES
If I would give it 6 stars

As a beginning woodworker intimidated by some of the more intricate forms of joinery, I decided to try this jig. Initial impressions were that the kit was high quality and easy to understand although I wish the scales on the jig itself were easier to read. After doing one trial joint, I decided to make a stand for my benchtop router table. Within an hour, I made a basic but perfect stand. The pocket holes were easy to drill, and flawless! I really can't recommend the kit highly enough, although I do recommend the Kreg Right Angle Clamp that's available.

I am brand new to woodworking, but was already uneasy with the idea of joints. Mortise and tenon, dovetails, rabbets...I didn't exactly want to dive in and experiment. I made a simple coat and shoe rack for my garage, and it turned out great. The joints were perfectly square, and solid. If you're a newbie like me, this jig will bolster your confidence quickly.
