2) Submitted by Gerald, from Lynwood, CA on 9/8/2009 Customer Rating: I purchased 4 of the 7" clamps to hold down the glue up of a broken piano lid. The clamps allow for minimal disassembly of the piano front. I just removed the top front panel and attached the clamps along the length of the lid. The clamps had to reach over a fixed rail and extend down inside the piano. I probably could have used the 5" but the 7" worked great.

I use them for general purpose bench holding rather than precise glue-up or assembly-type work since my finished work might be delicate and these clamps are hefty. I appreciate the 5.5" and 7" throats for more reach on hold down clamps. The handles allow a better grip than smooth wood, and everything on these clamps should last a lifetime except the plastic pads.
