I have a very complete, but somewhat small shop. Some of my machines simply have to be mobile. The ability to hook them up to one interchangeable hose is a great convenience. Yes, you need to buy an adapter for each machine, but the adapters provide a uniform friction fit and rotate as well. The Dust Right has worked out great for me.

I have been using the Dust Right System since it was introduced. Prior to 'Dust Right', I was fighting the battle of finding compatable 'FITS' for fitting of the so called same size components. The actual fitting sizes varied from tool to tool and dust collection fittings. Once I found the Dust Right System components, almost all my 'connection issues were solved. I found that picking the correct match-up for each tool port swivel and non-swivel made all the difference. Also, I found that a 'quick wipe' inside and out on the components between uses, eliminates any 'sticking issues' when removing the handle from the connectors. A little planning goes a long way to a satisfactory experience.

Excellent product. I read the other reviews! it must be that the product has been updated. The complaint of it being too hard to separate is not the case for me. They fit very closely, yet slide off easily. Near air-tight connection. I've switched all my connections over to Dust Right because how well and how easily they work. My only negative is that I'd like to see a "non handle" connection for extension hoses and for wall connections.

The handle, in conjunction with the fittings that go on the tools, work great! My dust collector must be moved from tool to tool. This set-up takes the pain out of the process.

A basic adapter that works like it should. Fortunately, I realized at the time of order, that you need the tool adapter as well so I ordered two of them so I can connect to my cabinet saw and connect to a reducer for my smaller vacuum hoses used for general cleanup. I find the four inch hose is too heavy for general use.

This is a great idea, and works OK in conjunction with other Dust Right stuff. However, it does not work with standard 4" dust ports on my tools - it's too big. I wanted to be able to move it from table saw to router table to jointer, but their standard 4" dust ports are incompatible. You have to buy a separate adapter to go between the handle and the tool port. Why couldn't they just make this standard size?

Editor's note: That's a good question J.
First, we have to consider tool ports on woodworking machines. As much as we'd like them to be, the fact is they are NOT standard in size. There are slight variations in size from manufacturer to manufacturer and tool to tool. Note that our Dust Right Tool Ports are not an all plastic mold. They are designed specifically with a rubber boot as an integral part of them, which gives the flex needed to fit the variations of port sizing manufacturers produce. To secure that flexible rubber boot to the molded plastic part of the fitting a minimum depth of lip is needed for a proper grip of rubber to plastic. By offering the Dust Right Tool Ports we are supplying a way to bring the non-uniform sizing of machine ports to a uniform size so that one can easily use the Dust Right Handle to switch from machine to machine.

These products do exactly what I wanted. I connected on of the adaptors to may Jet planer and the other to my Olvier spindle sander. The handle unit fot the 4" hose perfectly and connnected to the adaptor units.

When I pulled it out of the package, it seemed pretty good. I hooked it up to my chop saw with the adapter ports. The port broke apart (seperate issue with an easy fix) and the handle dropped to the ground. That's where I became disappointed. The handle is a two piece injection moulded part, which popped apart. Now it comes apart easily, and without the second half, it is extremly flimsy. I think the concept is great. I might just fill the cavity with epoxy.

This is a great concept, kudos to Rocker for innovation in a field 300 years old... dust is dangerous...
I have only one complaint. I hooked a few of these handles up, and when the 4" flex hoses twist, you get stress from the hose from being at the stretched position, the pistol grip cracked off the housing on first use. The solution is simple, which I implemented on the other one, you must install the swivel adapter to the handle, now the stresses will be relieved by the swivel.
In fairness, Rocker in my experience, stands behind all their products, so nothing lost but time and maybe return shipping fees (which is one reason I don't even bother returning lower cost items)...so just a heads-up to fellow ww's and Rockler staff as well, as its nice they actually read these reiviews and commentary. You guys are doing a great job with both new products and customer service...which has made me a big Rockler fan.

I guess I didn't read the fine print - you need an additional tool port fittings on each tool to adapt dust collection fittings to the handle. They cost additional. My advice is to make sure you understand the full cost of this item before you order.

I'm mixed about the handle. I like the idea, and it makes it very easy to move from machine to machine. Most of the equipment in my shop is on mobile bases, and using the system allows me connect each machine when I need it.

Fits the expandable hose very well. However, it does not fit any 4" port I have. Now it will cost to have all items work with the handle.

Solves the problem of as the editor notes the variations in machines' 4-inch ports. With Rockler's expandable 4-inch hose, it's ideal for moving from machine to machine. My collector is only good for one tool at a time. Now, if only they could fix the vast number of fittings and sizes for shopvacs. Connecting my Fein to almost anything is a real pain!

This dust collection system works great and I have equipped my complete workshop with it . However, this handle is very brittle, I have broken 3 now trying to seperate the handle from a port and it leaves sharp edges. Do not try twisting the fitting by the handle to seperate the hose from a tool or in particular the extension wand , it snaps immediately.

Note that this unit is not sized to connect to a 4" machine dust port. You will need to purchase adapters to make the hook up. Also, note that it does not come with a ring clamp to attach the handle to a Dust Right hose.

Because of the tight fit, you have to wiggle the handle to pull it out from the fitting. The second time I removed it from my planer, the handle split it half. I used some epoxy to glue the the handle halves back together. It didn't last long as a few days later the whole handle snapped off while wiggling it out of my table saw connector. Either I'm a lot stronger than I thought, or this piece is poorly made.

Works great for a while. Becomes difficult to connect and disconnect after being used a few times. Handle broke attempting to get it connected. Good idea, needs improvement.

Dust Right Handle connections are fine. However don't expect the pistol grip to remain for long. Snapped off in my hand. It was only half bonded to the tube. Works better now-omnidirectional. Poor workmanship.

The dust right handle grip needs to be strengthened. two of the three handles I have purchase have broken. Because of the tight fit between the handle and and other dust right components, you have to "wiggle" the handle to separate it. This causes the hand grip to break off. This is the only complaint I have with the entire dust rignt system. The concept is great and the other components work fine.
