Porter Cable Collets for Routers

These 1/2", 3/8", and 1/4" collets allow routers to accept 1/2", 3/8", and 1/4" shank bits, respectively. Each works great as a replacement part or an accessory adapter to expand a router's versatility. Quality construction and auto-release capability ensure optimal operation. All three models fit Porter Cable 690 Series routers as well as Porter Cable 7529, 7518, 7519, 7538, 7537, and 890 routers.

All three models offer auto-release functionality. The collet is held captive in the collet nut, causing the collet to automatically release from the arbor as the nut is loosened. The router bit, collet, and collet nut are removed as a unit to prevent "frozen" or stuck router bits.

They tighten down really well, but I wish that there were a line to let the less experienced carpenters in my shop know easily where to stop the bit. It comes with experience, but that experience can be a little expensive on the purchasing side.
