If you’ve ever struggled to make a lengthy angled cut, this is the jig for you. With a simple indexed angle setting system, heavy duty hold-down clamps and a smooth sliding design, it makes tapered cuts fast, easy and precise. Perfect for chair legs, table legs and more. Plus, with the miter bar removed it doubles as a stable straight line ripping jig. Includes 36" miter bar. Measures 31-5/8'' x 7-3/4''. 1/2'' thick MDF.

Jig fits snug in any standard 3/8'' x 3/4'' miter slot and features a large, ergonomic handle for smooth push-action performance throughout the cut.

Additional features:

  • Indexing marks make angle setting easy — each mark represents 1° of taper.
  • Dual tape measures provide convenient reference and also help set angles.
  • Two wide-body hold down clamps prevent stock from drifting dangerously from your fence.
  • Clamps have non-marring rubber caps for better grip.
  • Three adhesive strips run across the jig to help stabilize your workpiece.
  • With taper angle zeroed out, jig works great to rip straight edges on rough lumber.

I've used this jig a lot, and value for money it would be hard to beat, certainly an improvement in safety over some of the other available taper jigs. The clamps hold the wood in place nicely, and for thicker stock I just used some longer T-bolts. It's also good for ripping a straight edge on rough cuts. Although I haven't needed to do large angle tapers, I can see that the handle would get in the way.....I should also point out that I NEVER hesitate to order anything from Rockler because their customer service is EXCEPTIONAL, on the odd occasion that I've had a problem with an item they have bent over backwards to make replacement as easy as possible.

I bought this jig a few months ago on sale with free shipping, knowing I would eventually use it. Well today I used it. I can't tell you how much of a joy it was to use compared to the old scissors type aluminum one I have. It was also a lot safer in my opinion. It was easy to set up. And the tapered legs were dead on. Once you have it set up the cuts are repeatable. Highly recommend.

So far I have only used this jig to make straight cuts on rough lumber and it has worked very well. I assembled the jig but needed to make adjustments to use it on my old Craftsman 100 table saw. Just like any tool, there is a little tinkering time involved. It's definitely a useful shop item.

This jig is much safer and easy to use than the cheapy all aluminum one. Mine did not have any problems with square to the blade as some have experienced. Worked great for cutting the slats on some Adirondack chairs I made. I am really glad I bought it. Was going to make my own, but by the time all the hardware is purchase, you might as well buy this one.

Jig is fine but beware if you a SawStop. The tape on the jig is metal and can trigger the brake on the SawStop. A new brake cartidge and blade will set you back over $100. Advice: trim about 1/8" of the end of the tape on the blade side of the jig. The first few times I had no trouble but then the brake triggered.

I have not had a need to use this jig yet. The two sets of holes provided for the miter gauge bar were not in the right location for my table saw. One set would have cut off to much of the jig and the other set did not cut off enough. I had to drill new holes to just trim off enough to use it. Other than that I think this jig will work as it should.

This is a great product for the money, especially as I found I could use this jig for multiple purposes. I reomoved the handle and reversed the grips and found I could take even the roughest of wood and create a straight edge to work from. Much faster than screwing "straight" pieces of wood to edge of odd pieces like shown in the photo.
