This gauge is a beautiful thing. Used it to true up my table saw blade. I love that it can do both absolute and relative angles. Will make it easy to set, for instance, a 22.5 degree bevel. And of course, if you can cut an accurate vertical bevel you can make your own gauge to set the same angle horizontally on the mitre guage by simply putting the cut piece of wood between the blade and mitre gauge, adjusting the latter for a no-gap fit. I got it on sale, which made it even better. Rockler also delivered in no time as usual.

Building staircases just got a lot easier! This gauge saves me a great deal of time when it comes to cutting miters between posts as well as calibrating saws. I have no idea how I used to work, aside from a lot harder.

My "day job" is calibration and this little unit has the same accuracy, resolution and repeatability specifications as the excellent Mitutoyo Pro3600 $350 and I have verified this in my lab. I like the magnets and small size for locating directly on a saw blade without interfering with the teeth.

This is one of those tools you don't realize how much you need. Set a relative angle on all your tools with ease. It is compact and comes in its own case. Simple to use and accurate. Make a 90 degree cut with the worst tool in your shop on the first try every time. Buy this thing.

Great product, especially for the price. I used it to set up my table saw, RAS and miter saw. Two of them were off about half a degree, which can make a difference in critical miters. It uses a standard 9V battery instead of button cells, which is a plus. Heavy metal case, not plastic. I noticed that the back cover to access the battery doesn't seal completely but I don't know if this will be a problem or not. It wasn't worth knocking off a star, though. I'm very happy with this little gauge!

I bought the igage and tried it out. It did not consistently sense changes in angle of less than 1 degree. I zeroed it on my table saw table, used it to set the angle of the blade and cut a "45 degree" angle across a ~12" long by 2" wide board. When I reversed one of the boards to form a right angle, it was at least a degree or two off. It might not sound like much, but it makes the difference between a functional joint and a joint that I am happy with. Not good enough for me. I returned it an bought the Wixey angle block. It sensed changes of 0.1 degree consistently and passed the right angle test I mentioned above with no visible gap between the wood and the square. That is what I expected from a product like this.

Used it to true up my angle gauge on my table saw, band saw, router table and drill press. Worked great!!
I had two gun scopes to mount and it worked great to make sure the scope was inline with the gun itself.
Made several shadow boxes after setting my table saw and was more really surprised how the compounded miter cuts fit perfect. Thanks to the engineers that made the angle cube.

I purchased this item specifically to use in the construction of a sailboat. This project requires multiple and varied fairing cuts to shape the frames, keel, stem and transom on a table saw, band saw, as well as angled drilling with with my drill press. This is the ideal tool for this type of work.

What a great little unit! I have an older unit purchased from a discount tool supply, that was difficult to zero and use. This unit stays zeroed, is dead on and I use it to set base angles on all my tools that have adjustable fences, and on anything and everything that needs leveling! On sale price was just right, although I should have bought 2.

I bought 2 of these angle cubes in separate purchases. One was inaccurate right out of the box. It would read 89.7 degrees when I turned it on its side. I hear that it's temperature sensitive, so I kept it in my house 70F for a few days and it still was inaccurate.

Rockler sent out a new unit promptly and the replacement worked fine.

I had the opportunity to use the cube as soon as I received it. Easy to use, and greatly aided me in setting the proper angle for my tablesaw blade. I also was able to discover that my 90 deg. setting on the saw was slightly off! the cube detected that! The degree-variance feature has also been very helpful. A great value for any shop.

This item is great. The first thing I discovered was that the angle scale on my old Craftsman table saw wasn't accurate. It was off by .035 degree and apparently always has always been. No wonder bevel cuts never seemed to fit right. Now things seem to fit perfectly. You just got to have one in the shop.

Neat little tool to have in your tool box. The first task for this little guy was to set the angle on a Sat Dish. The ability to read upside down was really helpful. Also the magnets allowed us to stick it to the mount and use both hands for dish adjustment. It was VERY helpful. I have not used it in the shop yet but I am sure I will find MANY uses for it.

I bought this primarily to adjust the fence on my Ridgid jointer. I was using the square that came with the jointer. After locking the fence in position and rechecking I would occasionally find it was off and would have to start over. With the angle cube it's much easier since I can watch the reading while I'm tightening the fence down. It's also easier, faster and more accurate to determine when the fence is set to the exact angle. I always zero the cube on my reference plane before reading the angle. I find that it's dead on. Can't beat it especially for the price.

I bought this item to use for measuring my honing angles for my plane blades and chisels. I have been using for a couple months now and it works fantastic. I can easily place my plane blade or chisel in my cheaper honing guide, get the right bevel and then lock it in. It has saved me a ton of time and math work. I have also used to set my table saw, miter saw and Radial arm saw. I have found it to be dead on every time. Very great item at an even better price.

This is a really worthwhile item to have in your shop. It's nice for setting a table saw blade accurately to any degree of tilt rather than rely on the accuracy of the tilt scale on the saw. I find it especially useful for setting the fence on my Delta jointer. By placing the cube on the table surface, zeroing it, and sliding it up against the loosened fence, it helps hold the fence at 90 degrees while tightening it. This is much easier and more accurate than using a square to set the fence. I've also found it very useful in setting my band saw and drill press.

I recently purchased this magnetic level to zero in my saw blade and table so that I can get exact cuts. It amazed me how sensitive and accurate it was, not to mention being qualtiy built. I recently purchased a new Unisaw, and after assembly, I took the level and put it on the table and blade and got the same reading. My cuts were dead on. Great tool, bought anothe for a gift.

Wow, two days after my order it was in my mailbox! Thanks Rockler. Excellent tool, a must for every shop. Have used it to set tablesaw, bandsaw, drill press and mitre saw with excellent results. Box corners finally fit the way they should without additional sanding. Much easier to use than fumbling around with squares. Great as a quick leveling tool as well, good feature. With a little imagination, you can use the tool to check angles of all kinds. Permanent fixture in my tool pouch. On the downside, the magnets could be a bit stronger for better holding. The battery install/replacement process is a bit tedious. However, neither of these detract too much from the tools overall usefulness though.

I have a Wixey and found it very handy but this Angle Cube takes it up a level or two. Really like that it can be used as a level unlike the Wixey. Degree of accuracy is better. Display inverts when upside down. Magnets on three sides. Common 9 volt battery used. If I could make an improvement, a backlight to read the display when in the shadows would help those of us with eyes not like they use to be. Very nice device and would recommend over the Wixey.

Got it 2 days ago - easy to use, compact size. Have used it to check table and band saw angles, very accurate when compared to machinist's squares I use. Wife used it to install shelves on wall. Only one minor issue - I thought the battery change was a little awkward. It comes with a "heavy duty" 9V installed and I wanted to replace it with an "alkaline" before I used it. Battery compartment is VERY tight and 4 tiny screws must be removed to access the battery (a small Phillips screwdriver is included). Otherwise, seems to be an excellent product.

I've bought many things from Rockler for my shop, but this one I bought for my laboratory. We use this magnetic level to align the head of an xray machine that we use to measure stresses in metal parts. Small, strong magnets, and easy to read. Perfect. And since errors in alignment results in lousy data, I know it's accurate. After we are done with that project, I'll use it on my table saw.

I picked one of these up on Black Friday. I have a Wixey digital angle gauge already, but couldn't resist the deal on this one. There's two things I like about it better:

1. It works as a regular level. I plan on bringing it with on camping trips to level my RV.
2. It uses a standard 9 volt battery instead of button batteries (which I never seem to have the right ones on hand).

I love gadgets!

I rate this product fair only because I can't go lower. I bought one and was sent a replacement. They were both temperature sensitive, meaning that they were only accurate at around 90 degrees and about 1 degree off at 60 degrees F and should have been temperature compensated I'm an electronics technician by trade. What shop is at a constant 90 degrees F? The sides of the box were also not parallel, as determined by my calipers. I contacted the manufacturer and they stopped talking to me about it after a while. I tried another brand but it wasn't much better.

Overall not too bad of a tool for measuring angles, although mine very often says 89.90 degrees when I rotate to one side.
The magnets don't hold tightly to painted metal surfaces, which may be due to the units heavy weight.
I do like the fact that it uses a standard 9 volt battery.
I purchised this for measuring angles on model railroad tracks, which often has a very limited area to place a level, so this unit fits the bill exactly.

Product works well and really like the level feature. Rotating it 180 degrees does not give same reading, often differs by 0.20. Plenty accurate for me. Also don't see the 0.05 repeatability as advertised on package, frequently 0.15 for repeatability. So I just measure lots of times and average the readings. Magnets very helpful to check the tables and fences on my various tools.

I don't get this product, and neither should you. I found my 45 degree square was far more accurate than this gizmo in setting the cut angles for my 48" long bevel cuts on some columns I was making. Thankfully, I used a test cut on the blade setting before making the real cuts. The angle was off a considerable degree.
Even at 40 or 50% off, I wish I had my money back.

I thought that this would be the most useful little device in my shop, but after buying it, I rarely use it. It's more a novelty than anything else. I rarely set up my table saw for any angle other than 90, and still find my engineer's square to be quicker and easier and more accurate to use for that. When using the cube to set up at ANY angle, you have to position it on the blade "just so" or the weight will cause the blade to move forward or backward! also have to have it exactly aligned with the blade or it won't be nearly as accurate. Put the money toward a good set of squares, IMHO you'll be better off.

I had been wanting the cube for sometime and recently purchaed one. It works better than I expected. When I am through using it I turn it off, even though it is supposed to shut off after 5 minutes of inactivity. However after a week of inactivity, I have to replace the battery. I have had this thing for a little over two months and have had to install a new battery 4 times. I now remove the battery after each use, which a bit of a pain. If the battery did not drain was so quickly I would rate this 5 stars.

The claimed resolution and repeatability of .05 degree are a bit optimistic but anyone who says they can maintain that kind of tolerance in a woodworking project isn't being realistic. Wood moves more than that with temperature and humidity changes. Overall the device works quite good in setting up tools at unique angles as well as true square. I needed to drill holes for spindles arranged in a fan shape where every angle was different and it worked great. The front of the package suggested that it was American made but I was disappointed to find 'Made in China' on the back.

Wow, all these positive reviews. I must’ve gotten two lemons from the same batch or something. The first one had a defective LCD and displayed error even with new battery. The second had a normal LCD but was way off tested against two Wixey’s and 4 engineering squares that are dead on accurate and confirm both my Wixey's readings.
Another problem was not only this cube is inaccurate but the problem is also inconsistency in inaccuracy so you don’t have a reference point.
Good Luck.

I see a lot of 5 star ratings so I may have just had bad luck. The original unit ate batteries in a few days. Rockler customer service quickly supplied a second unit to try. The replacement lasted almost 3 weeks with a brand new Duracell. Still not really workable for a shop tool. Another brand that I have runs for about 6 months on a 9 volt. My money was cheerfully refunded and I couldn't have asked for better service in handling my dissatisfaction.

Seems pretty cool. Compact and very accurate. Seems to have a robust casing. What advantage this would have over a level or a square, I'm not sure. The 'hold' feature, which freezes the display so you can take it somewhere is a smart design feature, if you frequently have to record angle measurements somewhere far away. A tiny screwdriver, which is provided, is needed to change the battery. Which is lame. Almost every small electronic device I can think of has a clip for the battery compartment. But the designers of this said, "let's use an uncommon kind of screws instead." I'm not going to keep track of this tiny damn screwdriver and I know some day if I want to change the battery I'll be SOL. There is no design feature which prevents the buttons from getting pushed and turning the device on in my bag or pocket accidentally and running down the battery. It comes with a case which is, of course, complete garbage. The stitches pulled out literally the first time I pulled on the velco. Why even include it? Seriously. Are people like "well it seems cool but I'm not sure. What's that? It comes with a useless case? I'll take 10!" In conclusion, this thing is barely interesting enough for me to not return it. Actually I might return it.

This gadget is SO cool! When the cube is turned upside down, the numbers invert to right side up. One for the shop, and one for the toolbox.

"Every time I have been in a Rockler store around the country I have left feeling that I received wonderful service and most always had exactly what I needed in stock at a fair to great price. the only complaint, if it can be called that, is that I have to drive over 45 minutes to reach the nearest Rockler store. My wife probably appreciates that distance, as I am certain that if one was as close as I wished it to be, we would have very little left in our checkbook!"
