Create custom signs quickly and easily with your router in Comic Sans
font! Now includes Free Plastic Guide Bushing!
We've combined two of our most popular template sets (2-1/4" letters and
2-1/4" numbers and symbols, sold below as #42129). 4" kits and 5/8"
bushings for 4" kits are sold separately. The templates interlock to form
a stable pattern as you rout signs with
appropriate carbide router bits and bushings (3/8" for 2-1/4" kits). Secure
patterns to your work surface with masking tape, 1/2" or 1" Self-Adhesive
Discs (23138, 28363) or double stick
tape (sold separately). Each Letters Kit includes a total of 40 letters with
duplicates of common
letters and three spacers. Each Numbers and Symbols Kit includes two each of
0-9 and 9 common symbols including @ and &.
Requires the use of a plunge router that accepts standard 1-3/16" template
guides.

The kit is quick to set up, easyt to use and hard to mess up. Most of the negative reviews I have seen are from those with too little experience. I have made many signs with these kits and I love it. If you're having trouble smoothly moving your router across the template, throw a little baby powder on the template and the router will glide smoothly around your layout. Overall, I think this is the best kit on the market and wouldn't use any other! I would like to see different types of font if possible, but otherwise no complaints here!

I had trouble with the old set of letters etc that I had been using. After reading the reviews, I ordered the Interlock Signmaker's kit and am greatly pleased with the results. I also ordered the brass bushing. I had no problems. I used a Dewalt plunge router and all signs turned out well.

I ordered the 2 1/4" letter set, bushing and bit with some trepidation after reading the reviews. I was pretty certain I would ruin some letters first time out, but my 1st practice run produced near perfect results, and the 2nd was about as good as one could expect. I just took my time and made sure the router was up all the way when inserting the bushing, all the way down when routing and all the way up before moving to the next letter. Also, I traced the path before plunging the bit to get the feel of each letter. Using tape to hold the template to the work seemed a little kludgey, but it makes for fast and easy positioning.

I like the templates themselves. The plastic bushing that comes with the set is poor. The brass bushing is much better, however the bushing center guide is shallow. It is easy to misplace the router, missing the letter slot. When this happens you have to buy a new letter template. It would be good if the center guide could be a little deeper.

Great product. Did a quick test word and then routed a sign.... perfectly. Easy to use. Buy the brass bushing. Pricey but priceless. Highly recommended.

The template set performs as advertised. I would throw away the included plastic guide bushing and only use the optional brass bushing. Also it would be nice if you could buy individual letters to expand the set or to replace the first letter you ruin using the plastic guide bushing. I also found it helpful to add blank spacers ahead of the first letter and behind the last letter to give the router base additional support routing the first and last letters.
Editor's note: Individual letters and numbers are available for $1 each by calling 800-260-9663.

They work great. I made the mistake of not ordering the brass bushing and used the plastic one that come with the kit. The plastic one is junk spend the money on the brass bushing. Overall it is a good system and I am happy with it.
