This has to be my favorite and the most useful purchase I have made and I have one of just about everything. The accuracy and speed of measuring is amazing. I initially had this installed on my Steel City Hybrid but have since upgraded to a SawStop Contractor saw. It is simple to set-up and required only a very slight modification of the bracket to work with my Steel City. I am now completely at ease switching between cuts knowing that I can always come back and make another cut the exact same size at a later time. I used this to make the cutting board that is 20 pairs of wood strips that are graduated in size. Each strip is 1/32" larger than the previous one. With the DRO it was amazingly simple to get the accurate cuts this board required very quickly.
I have had two very minor problems which are both simple to correct. I've had to disassemble the unit on several occasions to blow out sawdust that has built up under the buttons and prevented the contacts from working. My other problem is that occasionally when repositioning or bumping the measuring unit it will add .200" to the reading. It's quick and easy to re-zero the unit out and bring it back to the exact same reading as before though.
By using this along with the Wixey Digital Planer readout my accuracy in cutting and preparing stock is near 100%. This unit is worth every penny and truly a must have for any table saw, its well worth it when you realize how much time you can save by not using a tape measure.

Comment to Mark Merrills review .... "My other problem is that occasionally when repositioning or bumping the measuring unit it will add .200" to the reading" .... from Wixley web site.... "usually this only happens when the readout is either moved very quickly more than 3 feet per second or if the readout does not fit tight enough on the track." link is http://www.wixey.com/fence/troubleshooting/index.html#large section on 'Large accuracy errors of .200" or more'

Purchased the Wixey DRO for my Delta Unisaw two weeks ago. Directions that came with the unit were very easy to understand. The installation was very simple and was completed in about a half hour. Spent a little time to relocate the on/off switch so I could get to it quickly without having to look under the saw to turn on/off the saw.
Set was simple and found the unit to be more accurate than using a tape measure. Like that when you turn on the DRO it remembers where you left it after the last cut you made. At first I was zeroing the readout to the blade for every cut adjustment. After using the DRO and getting comfortable with it I tried moving the fence between cuts without zeroing to the blade and found the accuracy to be the same.
I really enjoy not having to use my tape measure for setup when making multiple size cuts. Find that the cost for this unit is well worth the investment. Now looking for a DRO to set blade height.

Excellent product and superb value! digital read out is accurate within .003 inch by my caliper. Easy to mount and use, it will turn a finely tuned table saw into a precision cutting machine. Best single purchase I've made for my table saw-highly recommend.

I added this gauge to a Grizzly contractor table saw and a Vega after-market fence. The Wixey gauge was added with the hardware provided and with no modifications to the saw or fence. I agree with the comments of the previous evaluators. The gauge is easy to set up, very accurate, and maintains that accuracy over time. I wish I had purchased the gauge and the Vega fence years ago.

This high-quality product is flexible, innovative, and accurate. My saw has an unusual fence system, requiring some machinations to get the Wixey extrusion and scale mounted appropriately. But as you can see in the picture, the installation was clean.
This digital readout is dead-on accurate. I have a 12" dial caliper to check the Wixey against. I can now rip within .005 without trying hard. My caliper can verify the results up to 12", but there is no reason to believe that there are errors beyond 12" on the wixey.
This DRO is a great value, and a great product
