I had set up my table saw using a tape and it was off enough to make burn marks and was hard to pust stock through. I set the gauge up in about five minutes and had the saw running great, no burn marks and easy to to make cross cut and rip cuts. Good value.

This set up device is simple to adjust to the miter slot. I then tuned-up my table saw in record time, to within .001 of an inch.

I bought the Super Bar and Master Plate for my Ridgid R4511. I had a few problems at first because I did not have the dial indicator bolted tight enough to the plastic sled which slides in the miter slot. Also, I had to make the sled more snug within the miter slot. Once I got that taken care of everything worked fine. What I do not like about the superbar... on the R4511 the miter slots are not real close to the blade. Thus when I tried to test the arbor run out I did not have a lot of room to tilt the dial indicator at a 45 degree angle.
Oh yes... 1. the master plate is GREAT! 2. With this combo I was able to PROPERLY get my saw in alignment... better cuts and reduced kickback risk!

I just got back into woodworking. I have a ten year old Craftsman contractor style saw. While using the saw I was getting a significant amount of edge burn and thought it normal. I spoke to a friend about it and he suggested that my blade was most likely not parallel to the fence / miter gauge slot. I bought this Superbar and checked. He was most certainly correct. The blade was almost thirty thousandths out of parallel. I made some adjustments to the trunnion and got it to nearly perfect (one thousandth out). The burn is gone. I also used it to check the arbor run-out and rip fence. They were both on the money, but I was glad to validate the facts. I really don't know how you'd be able to check these settings with this much accuracy without a Superbar!
