The blades are made of high-quality tempered steel. The ripping side features an 8'' , 8 tpi edge. The crosscut edge is 9'' , 16 tpi. Replacement blades are sold separately.

I love this saw - well worth the price - I have abused it/learned how to use a pull saw on this saw and it is wonderful. After beating it up so much for 4 years the blade finally gave in and broke - reminder to all, it is a PULL saw. I will be replacing the blade and treat the new one with more of the respect it deserves.

I have had the Ryoba Japanese hand saw for few years and cannot imagine how I did without it. Aside from the speed that beats some of the power tools on small jobs, it certainly is safer and the fine cuts it makes are supperb. I have had my share of fun observing people's reaction when they watch how I can crosscut/rip a 4x8x1/4" to 1/2" sheet in the parking lot of a supply shop to make it fit into my sedan.

Had a lesser priced version that I realy liked, but this saw out-does that one considerably when I need a straight and true cut. Well worth the money.

Like this “pull saw” for cutting wood especially in tight places. Very accurate cuts with teeth that don’t seem to get dull quickly.

This is my favorite saw. It takes me less time to cut with this saw, in many cases, than it does to set up for cutting with a power tool.
It also has an interesting ring to it when struck on the flat side with a knuckle or a knee.

I got the Ryoba saw item# 20514
This thing is fantastic! Easy to use; cuts dead accurate (and I don't
think of myself as a very skilled worker); and cuts FAST. It just tears
through the wood. The kerf is very small, and the cut is quite clean and
smooth.
