Setting knives on jointer cutter heads just got easier! Magnetic bars hold jointer knives in place flush with the outfeed table on any 6" to 8" jointer bed. This jig is much quicker and easier than working with dial indicators. Allows quick shifting of knives to avoid damage and extend blade life. Solid steel construction.

Got to admit.. best 30 bucks I ever spent. I always dreaded changing my jointers knives. straight edge in hand, cup of coffee and nothing else to do for about an hour. This tool makes it so simple. A little care is still needed to find top-dead-center but once that's done... you're off to the races. I even removed the knife jack studs because they just aren't needed. Blade is pulled up touch the tool which is dead flat with the outbound table. What a joy. Test cut yielded perfect results. I'll be changing my jointer knives a little more often now and what a difference sharp knives make!!!!

Wow, for a tool so hefty at the resonable price of 29 dollars, I can't figure out why I waited so long to buy this thing.... As any woodworker knows sharp tools are easier, more accurate and more enjoyable to use- most of us who have limited time in the shop do not want to spend precious time changing blades, etc.... but this makes changing Jointer blades so easy and quick, I now have 2 sets of razor shape blades in addition to the blades in the machine on hand so I will never joint lumber with a slightly dull or knicked blade again. Fully Recommnend as one of those shop essentials.

Had been using a shop made jig with passable results, but the Rockler jointer jig is easier to use and more accurate. Knife adjustments or replacements certainly are facilitated by the magnets on the underside of the jig. It's very good quality and the sale price was an incentive to buy now.

This thing is great! I've got a really old jointer I got from my grandfather with no tool to put the blades in with. It was basically just sitting in my garage. $30 on this and it works like a charm!
The instructions have you make two markings on your jointer to line it up. I understand the marking on that is above the center point of the head, but I'm not sure why you need the second one. Which I did not put on mine and have no problems.

Bottom line: buy it! It is simple and does what it needs to do. Thanks Rockler!

Rockler finally came out with a jointer jig that was reasonably priced. I bought it expecting it to be cheap plastic and was very impressed with the quality. It works great and makes changing blades a snap. Five star.
