Ensure proper clamping of your turning material. Chuck jaws are prevented from widening beyond the optimum clamping range by auto-stop jaw slides, which allows secure clamping of different types of objects. Threaded jaws increase surface contact with turning material for a better grip. Thread size 1" x 8 tpi.

Great chuck but you will probably want some more jaw sizes. You can buy the One Way chuck for a little more money and get different jaws.  Caution- the G3 chuck only fits 1x8 threads.
