FastCap® ChopShop Saw Hood™

Control messes created on the jobsite by sawdust and other debris with this heavy-duty water-resistant nylon hood. Hood creates a shell around chop saws, miter saws, lathes and wet saws to contain debris to a small area and prevent it from littering your entire work area. Also functions as a protective cover for equipment when working outdoors. Collapsible frame makes setup and take-down quick and simple. Hood dimensions are 42"W x 30"D x 31"H. Would it work this good, and be nice enough to take out in public, no. My bosch 12" sliding miter saw and stand are worth it and it keeps them safe from rain.

4) Submitted by Forrest, from Huntington Beach, CA on 11/17/2010 Customer Rating: This really works in keeping the dust from my SCMS right behind the saw no matter what the miter angle and not all over the shop. I would have rated it 5-star except it needs to be somewhat wider to not interfere with the saw at high miter angles and it needs a strap to tie the Hood up when I roll my saw into its storage nook. Editor's note: As per FastCap this does have Velcro straps at the bottom to wrap around the top when you fold it up. The ones in the middle are for this and the ones on each side are used to strap to the leg of your saw stand to keep it from blowing in the wind and help funnel the dust.

5) Submitted by Joel Zeger, from Thornhill, ON on 1/17/2013 Customer Rating: This is really is a great product. It's easy to use and really cuts down on dust in my work area. I would have given it five stars but assembly was a bit of a challenge. The left peacock tail was very obviously not checked after manufacture and had a malformation that prevented the aluminum arm from being inserted into it. This problem was about 3/4" into the opening. I had to file it away in order for the arm to fit. Otherwise my advice is, don't hesitate in purchasing one.
