Sure-Foot® F-Style Clamps

These clamps have FAR exceeded my expectations. After using some a variety of 'F' style clamps these are better built and more robust than any other clamp. I would highly recomend these clamps. The cam system keeps it in place and it does not move until you release it, just as it is supposed to.

These clamps have the most effective spring clutch I've ever used on an F style clamp. It is easily released with a single finger and does not slip under load. Also, the large handle makes the clamp comfortable to use.

You can often judge the quality of a tool by how often you reach for it, and I rarely reach for these clamps when I've got a Bessey TG clamp available in the shop. The fit and finish of the jaws are exceptional, but that's where the quality ends. The bar is poorly cast, the handle is very cheap, and the set screw is considerably smaller than the Bessey's and don't have the smooth feel that a quality clamp should have. I love most Rockler products, but this one is not for me.

Very easy to adjust the opening and good stability when used on a bench. Clamping pressure is more than sufficient. It would be nice to see this family of clamps expanded to include deeper throat models as well as a 48-50 inch length. I do wish they had plastic pads available for the fixed jaw face though. Although machined smooth to reduce marking, it can leave edgemarks in the wood. A plastic pad would also provide a little more "stiction" to help keep the parts in position until the clamp is fully snugged up.

I love these clamps. I have been shopping for clamps for a year. I've tried the Bessy (my other choice) along with a host of others but I wasn't real happy with them and these exceed all the others in both quality and ease of use. The handle is fat enough to get a good grip. I am able to get the pressure needed for glue up. My only negative is there isn't a plastic protector on the fixed end of the clamp. This leads to marring your work. While I have solved the problem with stick on, no-skid rubber.  This is my only negative but I found that I like the no-skid pad better than hard plastic. I may convert all my other clamps to the non-skid pad. I will definitely buy a lot more of these clamps.
