I recently purchased 4 of the 48" clamps after comparing others. These are well built and stable with the wide foot. On sale these were a great value.

I purchased two of the 24" models after owning the 36" and 48" of the older versions of these clamps. I especially like them for gluing up panels. The panels stay flat and don't tend to rise up on the edges when tightening the clamps like pipe clamps. Also, unlike pipe clamps, the base is stable. I place pieces of plastic sheeting under the glued joints to keep glue off of the clamps. I would definitely recommend these clamps for anyone doing alot of glue-ups. They're also handy when gluing up cases, etc.

Very solid. Only downfall is the rivets that hold the screw side of the clamp in stop the movable face well before it bottoms out the screw. I may try to remove and make clearance areas so I can get more travel. For the price, hands down best clamp out there in a 48".

They start out working rather well. The biggest problem is that, with use, pinned ends on the moveable sections of the clamp get lose. So then the clamp end starts wedging on the aluminum frame. This causes misalignment and a pain, you know where, in order to get this clamp end to move.

These are my favorite clamps but I agree the clamp end can wedge on the bar. Backing off and moving it a bit by hand allows it to continue but it's a pain. I expect better from a clamp at this price.

I have about 30 of these in my shop, I love the platform they provide for strip laminating. Glue build up can bind the rear adjustment, but sliding it back forth on the rail a couple times breaks all the glue build up off. The clamp itself can bind on the bottom of rail, but you can slide it forward with a finger, no big deal. My main issue is the clamping force that can be applied. The threaded mechanism by the handle is magnesium, or something, and weak for a clamp. If you do over tighten, it will break, but Rockler has replaced all my broken clamps. If you do use the extensions, the are even easier to break. Overtime they will bow. On several of my 24" clamps there is a good 1/2" rise in the center of the rail. For my applications I like the clamp, the frequent sale prices are tough to pass up.

I have about 25 of the older blue anodized models of this clamp, all 3 lengths, and have been using them for about 12 years with no issues at all. Recently I purchased 4 of the new models with the painted black clamps. I've found them to be of less quality. The pin that holds the spring loaded locking device pushed through the magnesium. Unrepairable. The springs fall out, I don't know why. just not the clamp it used to be. Wish I could find some more of the old style to buy.
