Bought this vacuum  in Mar.2011 for use in my garage general use. Like it in general with the long hose and attachments along with the 8 gallon drum. But have found two problems with it. One the motor to drum locks come loose and the on/off switch doesn't work well and sometimes have to push it on and off pushing hard on both switchs to get it to turn on. Not good. These problems are why I rated it good.

My extensive experience with much of the Shop-Vac line tells me to pass along the following acquired invaluable knowledge: Buy this system with its small diameter hose for the office, or wet cleanup! buy a model with 2-1/2" hose for your woodworking shop, however, or else spend far more time unclogging your hose than vacuuming! and sooner or later - probably sooner - you will be unable to dislodge some small nail, pin, splinter or other similar obstruction that, upon "clearing" the hose, immediately reclogs with the next handful of shavings etc. upon resuming cleanup. When it comes to Shop-Vac hoses by any brand, size really does matter: Way too small inevitably results in nothing but perpetual disappointment & frustration.
