The holes are very tight. You have to push down fairly hard to insert the bit. Two hands are required to remove a bit, one to hold down the insert. All this force means that sometimes you come in contact with sharp bit edges. The insert cuts fairly easily for custom shapes and sizes.

The holes are way too tight. I would have to wear thick leather gloves to get bits into and out of the tray without slicing open my fingers. I tried to drill the holes out larger with a 1/2" bit and that did not help much. I'll get a larger bit and try again. Product would be perfect for the drawers of the router table I'm just finishing if it had larger holes, but is not useful as delivered!
