Rockler Circle Cutting Jig

The pre-drilled holes in the jig did not fit either my Bosch 1617 or Craftsman 320.17543 plunge routers. Contrary to an editor's note, removal of the sub-base from either unit did not reveal matching mounting holes for either of these plunge bases. However, the unit is well made, as are most Rockler products, and I drilled and counter-sank three holes for mounting to the Craftsman plunge router. The jig performed as advertised and will be a welcome replacement for my well worn shop-made press board jig. I would have no problem recommending this jig.

This jig is very sturdy and a great price. It doesn't fit Bosch 1613 plunge router (they didn't say it would but I took the chance), I'll have to drill some new holes before I can use it.

Did not fit my Bosch 1617 plunge router. This item is made very well but I was surprised to learn that the hole pattern only matches my Bosch 1617's stationary base plate and that it does fit not the plunge router base that is used with the Bosch 1617. The package clearly lists the 1617 as compatible but it does not elaborate that the only option is the stationary or fixed depth base. Few, if any, persons would use a fixed depth base for a circle cut. The omission of this detailed information led me to purchase a circle cutter that does not work with my router. I can't imagine using this tool with out a plunge cut capability.

Editor's note: to access the additional mounting holes used when installing to the plunge page one needs to first remove the Bosch sub-base from the plunge base. There will additional holes.
