Technically, this product works as expected, and I'm quite satisfied with the results. However, I have to give it only a "Good" {3 star} rating due to a few usability issues.
1} The display is difficult to read. The numbers are quite small, and the HI scale red numbers on a black background are even harder to read. There is no persistence to the display, meaning that when you remove the meter from the test material, the scale drops back to zero. So if you're working at arm's length, or in a difficult-to-access or dimly lighted area, it's hard to see the actual reading.
2} The on/off switch is also the HI/LO scale switch, and you have to pass through the OFF position to go from LO to HI. This means the meter thinks it has been shut off and turned on again, so you have to wait about 5 seconds for it to cycle through its start-up display. Not a huge deal but annoying.
3} The device has no auto-turn-off feature.
I do like the cap that is also a calibrator, nice touch.
This was given to me as a gift, it's my first moisture meter, and I am not a heavy user {so far}, so it's a keeper. However, if readability and ease-of-use is important to you, you might want to consider one of the LCD meters.

I've used several meters over the years and I simply had no interest in spending $150 to $200 for another. I've only had this one a couple of weeks but so far so good.

I've been trying to get along without one of these meters for a long time, but this looked great. It is. Easy to use and fast readings! Recommended!
