These Adirondack chair plans were revised in November 2012. Dimensional errors and missing information mentioned in reviews prior to this have been addressed and corrected. Please check the last page of the plan you are using to make sure there is a revision date of 11/12. If you have an older plan to work from please contact 800-260-9663 or support@rockler.com for revised plan.

Not for the first timer. This plan has some poorly laid out dimensions for drilling holes and needs to have a template included for the back slats since they are not square. Well built chair when it is done and very comfortable.

I received the kit without the plan only the templates. After I talked to the customer service rep they forwarded me the written plan. Great chair. Solid as a rock!

Completely inadequate directions. Not enough written angles - and this chair is all about angles. No material list. While the templates did fit each other, more than half my production time was spent trying to figure the thing out. It was the equivalent of building a bicycle with this: wheels on bottom. The chair itself came out fine. It's a very comfortable to sit in, more substantial than the ones you can buy.

The instructions could have been a little better, I would not recommend as a first time project. Spent couple of hours verifying the board footage required by laying out the templates to minimize waste, this helps tremendously when selecting the lumber to use. Once everything was cut and sanded with went together very nicely, and looks great better than anything you can buy online.

I  have had plan problems with the chair. For one, there is no specifics as to the size and length of the "99 short construction screws and the 42 long construction screws that are not included". As most woodworkers know, construction screws come in various lengths and widths. It would be helpful if recommended sizes were provided. I am not yet through with the construction, but I am pleased to hear from others that the final product is sturdy and comfortable.

I just received these plans. I purchased this kit so I would have a sturdy template. It is anything but. The templates are cardboard...very thin cardboard. I let the picture of the pattern being trimmed with a flush trim bit fool me. I will probably be able to use this to create a sturdy template out of thicker material but that is a step I had hoped to avoid. I haven't even looked at the plans. I hope they are higher quality.
