If you are like me, your first question is “why digital”? The answer I found is accuracy, convenience and speed. Like many woodworkers I have an old set of dividers and compasses. Due to their fine adjustment thread, the old dividers and compasses take much more time than the digital to adjust. With the digital you can pull the legs apart then make a fine adjustment with a center wheel. Plus the digital display is easier to read than a ruler measurement and the digital measurement, using either the decimal, fractional inch or metric option, is more precise.

With the digital you have the option to convert your measurement between decimal, fractional inch and metric. Also, by using the zero button between 2 measurements the display does the subtraction or addition and tells you the precise difference. Pretty neat!

It is easy to switch from divider to compass mode. A calibration tool, extra lead and batteries are provided in a sturdy plastic case. I would give this one 5 stars.
