I purchased these without reading the other reviews first. If I had, I would have avoided the self-closing feature. It is perhaps overly robust, however, but keep in mind that the drawer is rated for 100#. I was replacing slides in a overlay kitchen drawer and using end brackets to fasten slide to the rear of the cabinet. Fortunately, the store rep suggested a slide 1" longer than the drawer. This avoids the problem with the pin on the closing mechanism interferring with the drawer. Front-to-rear location of each drawer member of the mechanism is critical as both sliding members must contact the closers at the same time. I'm a little concerned over the long-term durability of the closers. Also, the closers slam the drawer against the cabinet face. The finish will mar w/o bumpers. Bottom line: They work, but think about really needing the self-closing feature.

I  found the pin associated with the self closing mechanism stuck out beyond the slide and prevented the drawer from opening and closing. I utilized one of my small routers to rout out a deeper recess in the drawer facing to accomodate the pin. Secondly, when installing the drawer with slides mounted for the first time, one must exercise extreme caution not to apply the slightest force in inserting the drawer. The metal retaining mechanism that holds the ball bearings in place is readily bent and if any resistence is encountered when inserting the drawer, it is a safe bet that the metal retainer is bent and at least one ball bearing is loose on on side. If so, remove drawer, inspect track closely and if retaining mechanism is bent! repositioned the ball bearing and with a small set of neddle nose pliers carefully compress the retaining mechanism around the ball bearing. I also had not expected to find the self clsing spring to be so stout. You can expect a more significant pull required to open the drawer. It will help to insure that you have completely freed the tracks from any bit of saw dust related to mounting track. This can be problematic as tracks are shipped well greased and sticky.

I like the new design of the self-closing mechanism. But then I installed them on the three drawers I was using them on. I thought they were great until I tried to open and close the drawer. The self-closing pin in the mech is longer than the slide its self. So when closing the drawer it won't go by the pin that is out farther then the slide its self. I had to chisel around the back part of the drawer to let the pin hook into the slide to close it. I would of sent them back, but had to get this job done so I just dealt with. Won't order next time.
