I started off buying one pack each of the Gold and Chrome bookmarks. I really like turning these. They are quick, simple and yet provided another unique item to add to my inventory. There is a suggested Mandrel to use with these. I purchased and tried it. Truthfully if you have a jaw chuck it is easier to pop a blank or cut off into the chuck and turn to the correct diameter, round it over, polish and part off the piece. I do use the mandrel when I have a really thing piece of a cut off left over to use. I use Speedfast double-back sticky tape to hold the piece onto the mandrel and with my live center a pen bushing and thick piece of foam clamp it all into the place. This way using the foam/bushing I have pressure to keep the piece from slipping on the tape so I can round it. Once rounded back off the live center and round-over the front and polish. It only takes about a couple minutes to turn one of the pieces off, buff to polish and then epoxy on the bookmark. I really enjoy having come across these. It is a great way to use all the pen blank cuts offs I've been saving the last few years. :} I will definitely be buying more of these in the future.
