Freud® LU97M Industrial Double Sided Laminate/Melamine Saw Blade

Designed to give long life and excellent finish on the top and bottom of laminates, melamine & veneered plywood. The laser-cut anti-vibration design yields the plate acoustically dead. This reduces the sideways movement of the cutting edge to prevent chipping in manmade materials such as laminates. This dramatically extends cutting life and finish. No scoring blades needed with this blade!

The Silver I.C.E.™ (Industrial Cooling Element) coating helps resist heat build-up up to two times longer than standard, polished steel blades. The extra protection from heat stress and pitch build-up helps reduce drag, extending the life of your blade and saw motor.

I've searched for over 15 years and bought many $100+ blades, looking for a decent melamine blade. This blade cuts 2 sided MDL (melamine) as close to perfect as I've ever seen. I am also surprised at how quiet it is too. This is the best blade for melamine I have EVER seen. I've been setting the blade height so that the entire tooth just clears the top of the wood. It works so great, I don't want to mess with raising it higher. If you're tired of the back side of your melamine chipping out, this blade is the ticket.

I received my new Freud 80-tooth Laminate/Melamine Saw Blade last week and put it right to work cutting 3/4" melamine sheets into shelves for a pantry/laundry room remodel. Powered by my Delta contractor saw, this blade went through the melamine effortlessly and with zero chipping. It left such a smooth edge that I was able to iron on melamine edge banding without even sanding! Before replacing the blade with my normal combination blade, I used it to cross-cut some birch plywood and was impressed with how little tear-out there was in the cut. I got this blade in a Rockler half-price sale, which made this purchase even smarter!
