Acrylic holds very fine detail - ideal for lithophanes and intricate carvings where the highest resolution is desired. These white acrylic sheets are sold in packs of ten, and are available in two sizes. The 11.8" x 7.9" sheets are for use with the
BE3030 Click-N-Carve CNC Carving Machine, while the 7.32" x 5.31" sheets can be used with either the
BE3030, or the
BE2015. Most other CNC machines will accept both sizes, but check the capacity on your machine. If your carving requires less detail, you can save money by using
ABS Plastic Sheets, (e.g. 49535, sold separately).
A lithophane is an etched or carved piece of artwork on thin acrylic that can only be seen clearly when back lit with a light source. A lithophane presents a three dimensional image that is much more appealing than two dimensional engravings.
