Quality.. this is first and foremost I have used the other plastic circle guide but this is the real deal, very well engineered and well thought out. If you do any amount of wood work this should be in your tool selection... fast accurate and worth the investment.

This is an update on my earlier review dated 12/22/2012. Apparently the unit I received is the newer MkII and not the original MkI. The MKII came with guide rods with rather small diameters and offset crank plates to accommodate more router models, but invariably caused play when using the micro-adjustment. Customer service by M-Power was top notch. Upon receiving my product feedback, one of their staff followed up with my problem closely and resolved it by sending me replacement parts based on MkI. The CRB7 now works as advertised. I am a happy customer again and have thus upgraded the product to 4 stars.

I was impressed by the product video, but was greatly let down by the actual unit I received. Firstly, for such a well-thought of product, the box that it came in was surprisingly poorly designed. The hardware inside was moving around quite a bit and upon opening the package, I realised that one M5 washer and 6 CSK woodscrews listed in the manual under "items enclosed" were missing. It does not seem to fit all routers, at least not my router (Bosch MRC23EVSK). I tried many different ways to get my router's cutter position in the centre of the baseplate letterbox as described in the manual but to no avail. The "best" position was actually off-centre but that meant using larger bits would cut into the sides of the baseplate's letterbox. The diameter of the two supplied guide rods are also too small for my router base. This rendered the micro adjustment useless as the router base was not moving parallel to the guide rods at all but was moving towards the sides of the baseplate's letterbox. This was a big letdown as the micro adjustment was the feature that appealed to me the most. Maybe I need to modify the size of the baseplate letterbox.
