I couldn't use the normal toy box lid support because the back was thicker than 3/4" (1 1/2" in this case). These closers had no affect on dampening the close rate and were totally useless for a toy box application. I am now in search for better solution.

4) Submitted by David Beverage, from Greenwich, OH on 2/22/2008 Customer Rating: I used these lid suppprts for a cedar chest, the lid was made of 3/4" cedar. The supports worked great! I feel that the rivits have too much clearance, but it still works great.
