|
Lids lower gently--never crushing fingers. Support opens lids to a maximum angle of 105° and is 8-7/8'' long overall. They have nickel plated steel arms with cream colored plastic housing. Compact design makes these supports ideal for installing in tight places. Use one support per 43 inch/lbs. Figure inch/lbs with this formula: (lid wt. X front to back size) divided by 2.
Price for each support.

I used the soft down lid support to replace an old support on one of my daughters toy boxes and it works great. You can easily open the lid and also avoid any "pinched" fingers. I highly recommend it.

My daughter and I installed a set of these on my daughter's Chistmas present hope chest. I'd just finished the chest in time to take to her GA home and discovered that the lid supports I'd bought for the project 3 months earlier didn't fit. I had 1.5 x 2.5" of cherry between the support and the hinge. I had these delivered to my daughters house and headed down with the chest on a trailer.
Installation was a breeze! The downloadable template made that a no brainer. We did have to add .875" to the back measurement but they worked like a charm and they lower the 18.5 lb. cherry and lacewood lid slowly and softly. And they're dandy lookers too! I highly recommend them.

I re-finished an old chest for my year old Granddaughters toys and was concerned that the lid could slam down on her fingers. I ordered and installed the "soft-down support" hinge. Other then all dimensions being in mm's, which I converted and then discovered the template for location of the hardware! it was easy to install and works perfectly with a very slow and controlled closure of the lid. No worries for little fingers!

This is the second time I haave had to use a soft down lid suport for a toy box. I have found using two suports gives me the closing I need for little fingers. This box has stood the test of time, two little girls and one boy. I love everything but the instructions.

Kudos on a fine piece of engineering/design and construction that works better than I imagined possible. My wife's first reaction was "ugly", but the look on her face when the lid of her very old sweater chest closed magically, seemingly by itself, and not making a sound, was beyond price.
Yes, the instructions, diagrams, and measurements could be polished by someone who speaks and "thinks" in english, but nevertheless, the end result is very impressive.
Your company is on my list of "places to go" for hardware and woodworking items. Thank you.
