This finish is designed specifically for applying to wood pens or other wood turnings as they are spinning on the lathe. Use the satin gloss block for an easy-to-apply finish to your pens or pencils. For a gloss finish, first use the satin gloss block followed by the high gloss block.

I've only used this a couple of times. I am hoping it meets the advertising; that it hold up better than shellac on top of a wax base.

In February of this year, I became the proud owner of a brand new wood lathe. I thought that a good way to learn how to use it would be to make some pens. The combination of these two HUT finishing bars has made lustrous finishes so simple that I can concentrate on learning some turning skills.
