Opening to 70º, they are ideal for both overlay and inset lids. Requires 5-1/8'' x 7/8'' x 10-3/4'' for mounting. Overall dimensions are 5-1/2'' L x 1-5/8'' High x 3/4'' thick; arm is 10inches L when fully extended. Available in right- and left-handed.

2) Submitted by scott, from sonoma, CA on 7/2/2009 Customer Rating: I made a toy chest for my son but soon realized I made it a bit large for normal lid supports. Afer breaking about 3 I bought at the local hardware store I realized that I needed something a bit more beefy to handle my 24" X 48" X 3/4" lid. Instructions weren't the easiest but it's pretty simple to install them. The only reason I didn't put a 4 star rating is I wish they the tension was a bit stronger to make the closing softer and opening easier. I bought them with the assumption they would be more beefy then they were. That said, I don't see anything else out there that compares. The lid supports are excellent and easy to install. The instructions that come with them are needlessly cryptic but they are so easy to install you don't really need instructions.

5) Submitted by Dan Sullivan, from Durham, NC on 5/16/2008 Customer Rating: I had planned to use this on a piano bench lid, but had to return it because there wasn't enough room in the piano bench cavity to mount the support, or to accommodate the support in the closed position. The catalogue does not show a diagram of the support in the closed position, and is not clear about how much space is needed.
