I work alone most of the time and find decking tedious if not more than a little challenging by myself. The Bowrench is a great tool. It makes life a lot easier, and though a little pricey (which is why I haven't bought before now) it is worth it's weight in gold. Having said that, I have two complaints. First, the paint comes off on the wood a little more easily than I would have expected. Watch for this if you are staining hardwood. And second, I wish that the two pins that slip over the joists were adjustable. I work on old homes with older thicker framing, and the wrench as configured does not fit over. One can apply considerable force with this tool, so I can understand why those are a fixed welds. Maybe the best part about the function of this tool is, if you set up the wrench with the correct spacing & at 90° to the piece, even if it took some force to get it there, you can let go of the wrench and have two hands free to secure the wood.

I bought the Bowrench and used it to build my neighbors 10' X 12' deck. It worked great! I am now just putting on the finishing touches on a 6 1/2' X 20' deck in the front of my house. Don't know how I would have done it with out it.
