Heavy-Duty 20'' Variable-Speed Scroll Saw

I had another scroll for many years but this one outperforms it by a long shot. It is quiet and precise and the blade change is quite easy. This is my third piece of power equipment from Dewalt and I am very satisfied with them all. Makes working word much easier!

I just completed cutting and building a very intricate clock that was all fret work with this saw. It's outstanding to operate. Changing the blade and re-tensioning from one hole to the next is fast and easy to do. I like the extra long air hose on the saw; it does a nice job of keeping the work area clear of dust when cutting and it adjusts easily. This saw also runs very smoothly and quite. If you enjoy doing fret work or making small detail cuts this is the saw to have. The ole Sears saw got me through a lot but it doesn't hold a candle to this saw it's retired for ever now!

All I can say is Love it! Love it! Love it!!! I have had a hard time due to the weather to get out to the garage this winter to try my new De Walt 788 but when I did I just could not beleive how much it could do over my older cheaper saw! I have been telling every body about it! Sure glad I found it on the Rockler website!

The DeWalt 788 I feel is one of the best saws around, I was using a small Craftman Scroll Saw and what a difference. There was a little vibration at the top speed but the work I do I don't need the high speed. It is money well spent for I feel years of use. Thanks again DeWalt for building a great piece of equipment.

I had gone through 2 "cheapie" scroll saws over the past several years. I do a fair amount of fret work and intarsia. I finally have a machine that holds the blade tightly and is easy to thread into pilot holes.the blower works great. Having the arm tilt is an invaluable feature for me. I am not crazy about the hold down...the arms are too far apart for some of the small work I do. But other than that, a fantastic machine, and getting the stand free is a great incentive. A built in light and blade holder woild nice added features.
