I really like these over bar clamps in squaring anything. They almost auto square things. Its much less of a fight with drawer boxes and doors. Especially anything mitered. I buy pretty much high quality tools and I cant comment on the guys below but my clap is pretty well made. I can see over time in a custom shop with glue getting all over them how they might fail inside. That would take me years to do that however.

I chose Bessey because they make decent clamps. I bought the strap clamp to clamp mitred boxes with four or more sides. The clamp worked very well - but buy a pair to even out clamping pressure over the sides of the box. If buying for clamping picture frames, I guess one clamp would do. I've bought another Bessey Strap Clamp since buying this one. I'm very happy with this product.

I'm building a custom cart for a friend. Part of the cart is a detachable utility box. I needed a way to clamp the sides together while the glue dried.
Because its a fairly big box, I purchased two of these strap clamps. They proved extremely easy to set up and use, they equally distributed the clamping pressure and, in short, I'm very pleased with them.

This strap clamp is very good, but the only improvement to me would be that the corner clamps should have some kind of non-skid feet on the bottom. I used the strap clamp for frame making.

Actual clamp mechanism is a cheesy polystyrene level that has broken twice - use it gently...otherwise it's an OK product.

I bought this on-line and was expecting to use it on a hexagon frame that I wanted to build. I doweled and glued the frame and slipped the Bessey Variable Angle Strap Clam with the Extra Strap Clips and started to crank the plastic handle. It broke before the boards even came completely together, let alone with any real clamping pressure. I had to immediately pull off this clamp and gather six pipe clamps to crank down each side to get the frame together before the glue dried. I am very disappointed in the product and am trying to get my money back. I do not recommend this product to anyone and considering the price tag I am shocked that it is entirely made of cheap plastic.

I needed a clamp for small rectangular frames and thought this one would do the job well. It's well-built, can create a very strong clamping force, and is easy to put together. Because of the width of the strap and design of the corner clamps, you shouldn't try to use it on stock that's less than about an inch thick. I found it difficult to impossible to align the corner clamps to the 1/2" wide framing material i was using, so for now, this one's demoted to the shelf. I'd recommend that Bessey consider a new model with a 3/8"-wide strap and corner clamps on the order of 1/2" wide. The design would probably scale up to a whole family of similar clamps, too, easily up to 2" or more -wide straps and corners. The price is very reasonable and the unit is VERY strong. an excellent clamp for the right objects and material.
