Safety Tips:
It's easy to prevent mishaps if you take a few simple precautions.
1) Rockler recommends using 1/2'' shank router bits whenever possible.
1/2'' shanks provide better stability with less vibration to produce a smoother
cut and longer cutter life.
2) Make multiple light passes rather than one heavy cut.
3) Install your router bit so that 90% of the shank is inside the
collet. Here's a rule of thumb: fully insert the bit, then pull it back
1/16 to 1/8 of an inch.
4) Use a router table whenever possible.
5) When using large diameter bits, reduce the RPM of your router.
Then test your set-up on scrap lumber.
6) Always follow your router manufacturer's recommendations. |

I used the plunge ball marble router bit to make seven marble game boards. This tool worked very well and made the job really easy. The service for this was great. This was the frist time I orderd anything on line, and it was easy. I was surprised to see a message in just a few minutes that you recieved my order and I had it in dust a few days. Thanks to everyone at Rockler.

When new the bit cut well but I had many problems with it. This bit is more likely to stick in a router chuck than any other bit I have. As a matter of fact it was the only bit that stuck. Cleaning the router bit and chuck made no difference. This bit did not hold a edge for long, I used it for about 3 months of light duty before it became dull. So bottom line it works well when new but did not meet my expectations.
