Being able to cut materials safely and precisely on your table saw is essential for fast and accurate Woodworking.

COMPARE PERFORMANCE & PRICE WITH ANY FENCE!
Being able to cut materials safely and precisely on your table saw is essential for fast and accurate Woodworking. Unless saw fences are well designed they make cutting a chore instead of pleasure, resulting in poor quality and inaccurate cuts. Most Saw Fence Systems….
- Do not lock parallel to saw blade.
- Do not have accurate measuring scales.
- Have Fence Bars that are too short.
- Do not have adequate width ripping capacity.
- Require frequent re-alignment.
- Lack safety devices.
- Are unable to be finely adjusted.
The Vega Saw Fence Systems solve all of these problems (and more!) to assure
Accurate and reliable cuts combined with smooth, precise motion.
UTILITY MODEL 26 or 50 Designed for contractors saws, smaller cabinet saws, and 10" saws that don't receive extremely heavy use, the Utility Model
Fence is simply a small version of the very successful Professional Model. With all the great features of the Pro Model (fast installation, super precision, micro adjustments and more), the Utility Fence will upgrade your saw to a very precise cutting machine at a very reasonable price.
The Utility Model Vega Saw Fence System is available with 26" or 50" rip capacity to the right of the blade and 8" to the left.

I installed the Vega 50 inch fence on a Central Machinery 3 hp heavy duty contractor's saw. The holes lined up, all the parts were in the package, and installation was easy. I didn't find the instructions a problem - assembly was pretty intuitive. Despite the rough appearance of some of the castings the end product was smooth and accurate. I was able to reposition the adhesive ruler without difficulty. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the fine adjustment mechanism on this fence worked. As suggested in the instructions I added a melamine extension to the right of the table saw table. Because the fence attaches to the saw with only 2 bolts, the cantilevered end of the fifty inch fence with the weight of the melamine tended to tip the saw to the right. Despite this, the alignment of the fence and the quality of the rips remained rock solid. I will add a couple of legs to the extension for extra support before ripping large pieces of plywood.
I spent last weekend ripping a lot of wood on a Powermatic cabinet saw with fitted with a Beisemeyer fence. I'm satisfied that I could get comparable results with the Vega fence on my contractor saw for a fraction of the price.

It took me about 35 minutes to install the 26 model on my 1960's vintage 10 inch Craftman saw. The front bar fit perfectly but one hole had to be drilled for the back bar. I found the instructions to be concise and more than adequate. Initial alignment and adjustment was a snap and further adjustments should not be required. The item arrived at my door only 3 days after I ordered it online from Rockler. I believe it's a great fence for the money.

My dad and I purchased the Ultra 50 Vega utility fence today and I wanted to add my initial thoughts in light of all of the previous reviews. Most reviewers rate this fence highly, but uniformly condemn the documentation, and most condemn what is perceived to be sloppy quality of the craftsmanship (yet all seem to agree that the fence ultimately works great).
My experience was that the documentation WAS pretty bad; yet somehow we were able to have the thing installed and dialed in within 30 minutes. Part of this had to do with the fact the holes seemed to line up perfectly on our later model Craftsman 10 inch professional saw. So while the four page instruction manual was pretty poor, it didn't seem to stop us from getting this puppy together without screw ups. My feeling that most people should be able to get this thing on extremely quickly UNLESS you have to drill holes in the rails to accommodate your saw. And even then it should be too bad as long as you have the right drill bet and drill set-up...
In terms of the parts quality; it's true that some of the various nuts, bolts, and attachments were pretty dusty and "machine" dirty. But once it was together it looked pretty slick.
In terms of using the saw itself; lord it is like night and day from what we had. I can't really compare it to other premium fences, because I haven't used them, but compared to the stock fence, this thing is exceptionally good. All of a sudden, cutting was just like cutting butter with a warm knife. it's just amazing.
One small annoying detail is that the measuring tape on the front rail isn't even close to being "Zeroed Out" with the blade. Basically we decided to center it at one inch, and plan on just always adding one inch mentally to my cut. The manual suggests removing the tape and repositioning it, but it really can't be done without destroying it as near as I can tell.
We ended up buying it because it was literally the only premium fence that we could pick up and take home today and not have to order it (Rockler had several in stock in the Seattle store where we live). We thought about getting the Beisemeyer from Sears, because it was specifically designed to hook up to our saw, but it was more than a 100 bucks more, and we'd have to wait 10 days.

After many years of woodworking I have finally found a fence that gives me a accurate cut from stem to stern. My old Craftsman 10 inch table saw now works like a new piece of equipment in my shop.

For what it is, this fence is an incredible improvement over the old 3/4" wide fence my saw had. As for documentation, everyone is right - it is very poor. I got more from the drawings than from the words. On my Delta XL-10 (VERY old) I only had to drill one hole in front, and one in back (plus enlarge two existing holes). I did have to drill a new hole for the fence's underside "bumper", as my XL-10 wasn't long/wide enough for where the bumper originally was.
Once installed, locked on, and the rail adjusted for a perfect measurement, it works like a dream.
I could have bought a Biesemeyer fence if I was made of money. Instead I got the Vega Utility 26" and I am glad I did - I don't think the Biesemeyer would have given any better performance and I saved a lot of money.

I agree with most of the comments from the other reviewers. The Vegas fence system is rock solid and accurate. It's easy to lock in and the micro-adjustment feature is a great help. But the product lacks polish. A few things that need improvement: Better installation instructions, clean parts, and better finish on some of the parts.
I installed the Utility 26 Model on my Craftsman Portable Table Saw. The instructions didn't help much and left out significant details. But after awhile I was able to figure it out. Had to drill a few holes. Now that the new fence is installed, cutting on my saw is like night and day from before.
The Fence System is definitely superior to most fence systems included with table saws. But installing the Fence system is not for the faint of heart.

I installed the 26 model in about half an hour and now have a precision fence that rivals any brand on my 50's Craftsman 10 inch saw. Easy to install, had to drill only one hole, and easy to use. Once it is aligned you never have to align it again. I highly recommend this fence to make an old or cheap saw into a precision saw.
