I actually borrowed this tool from a friend of mine. We used it to drill countless pocket holes in pressure treated lumber that we used for the top and bottom support rails for his decking spindles. I borrowed it from my friend only to find the very tip of the drill bit was broken. It still worked but it required a lot of pressure on the drill. I called their customer service line and inquired about just purchasing the bit itself since there was nothing wrong with the blue collar. The gentleman I spoke with just asked for my shipping information and said he’d send me one in the mail. He never asked me to pay for it even though I was prepared to do so. It actually arrived about 3 days later and now with the new bit it will drill through wood like hot butter. It’s so sharp that I can hold the collar with my fingers and don’t even have to use the clamp. I was very impressed with their customer service! it’s very rare these days that I encounter a company with such great customer service!!!!

I consider myself an 'intermediate' woodworker.I was making wishing wells using landscape timbers, needing to join 22 1/2degree angles for the different size rings of the base, but was unable to pull it off on my own.
After ordering the mini-jig I was able to 'fly' through the joinery. Funny how you can have SO much fun using such a small tool.I want to use it on everything.I highly recommend it.Try it, you won't be dissapointed.

Recently bought this jig and the Kreg 6" clamp. Used them when building a deck railing. Used pocket holes and 2 and 1/2" screws to attach 2x4's to the 4x4 posts. Excellent product.

I used the jig to attach the lower end of Trex stairway balisters to the lower rail,toe-nail stile. Only way I could make the conection and hide the screw.

I used this handy little tool to attach the legs to a rocking horse and it worked perfect. After I inserted the hole plugs you could bare tell where the screw holes were.

Simple to use and works great. Make sure to get Kreg's clamp made to hold the pieces to be joined flush. It's much easier than rigging something.

As I get closer to retirement I have started to realize the enjoyment I get working with wood. I am just starting to build a basic tool list and thought this item would fit in with little expense. As soon as I got it I used it to make some joints. The unit worked great.

Immediately after receiving my jig I just had to try it on scrap pieces of oak. It was wonderful; easy, solid, and quick. I'm eager to begin a face frame project.

I finally played with this tonight. Had to buy the drill separately as I hadn't ordered the model with the drill. Wow - fast, easy, and actually fun to use. I screwed a piece of maybe 1.125" wide walnut plywood (3/4") to MDF and it held SOLID. Very cool and useful tool. I'll be using this a lot.

I picked up this jig to give it a shot before investing in the upgraded model. I'm very pleased with the ease of use and the strength of the joints it creates. I was also suprised that all I needed was a small spring clamp to keep it in place, which makes things even quicker. It's so easy to use that I probably wont even need to get the better model.

I teach in an Auto Restoraation program at Mcpherson College. One of our current projects is a 29 Model A woodie wagon. The pocket drill guide worked perfectly for several joints which needed tightening.

Does the job for a fraction of the price of a full sized one but if I was using repeatedly, I would get the full sized one.

I am someone who works with wood on a very utilitarian level. I've built many decks and walls, but I wouldn't necessarily call myself a craftsman.
After many many years or watching The New Yankee Workshop and seeing pocket screws being used as one of many preferred methods for blind binding wood together I knew this was a method I wanted to explore. But paying $500 for a tool that ONLY drills pocket screws was never going to happen.
I found out about the Rockeler tools catalog from my father and while flipping through the pages I was amazed to find so many tools and jigs at prices that put them within my range of a casual / utilitarian woodworker.
This Kreg Jig was among one of the first tools that I have purchased from the Rockeler, and I must say I am thoroughly impressed with not only the build quality of the components but the pricing as well. It works well not only as a jig tool but also as a hole plug setter/pusher. For the casual carpenter or someone that needs to get into smaller spaces than a full sized jig and clamp would allow I highly recommend this tool.
In a fast paced [precision]production environment, this tool will take much longer to setup than a more expensive integrated jig. So I would not recommend it for that usage unless you build it into a larger permanent setup for the jig. All in all 5 stars.

Very good for small jobs and jobs on assembled work pieces, however, because of clamping and unclamping for a large job, it is much better faster using a two or three hole pocket tool.

This product is the low end of the Kreg line of course, but it exceeded my expectations. The jig appears to be durable and is basiclly complete except for the extended square drive bit and screws. I wanted to join oak faced particle board partitions to oak shelving! future disassembly was a requirement for the project. The Rockler staff was helpful. My only complaint was that they did not have the advertised priced pocket screws in stock.

This tool is definitely worth the money. A must have for your shop. I couldn't believe how strong this butt joint is, and am looking forward to other Kreg tools.
