Restor-A-Finish is a unique finish-penetrating formula that restores the original color and luster to your finish while blending out the blemishes and minor scratches. Restor-A-Finish cleans the surface and restores the finish in one step - without removing any of the existing finish.
Restore It - Don't Strip It!
With a simple wipe-on, wipe-off process, most finished wood surfaces that seem to need a refinishing job can be completely restored in a few minutes. White heat rings and water marks, sun fade, oxidation, smoke damage, and most other blemishes can be quickly eliminated. Before you go to the extreme of stripping it, try restoring it! Restor-A-Finish is available in nine colors: Neutral, Maple-Pine, Golden Oak, Cherry, Walnut, Mahogany, Dark Walnut, Dark Oak, and Ebony Brown.

I use the word "miracle" with caution, but rub this in with 0000 steel wool on sound, finished wood with light scratches, scuffs, water-marks, heat rings and discoloration. Buff it off in 10 minutes and it looks like you stripped, stained and refinished it. The wood glows. Beforehand I cleaned the dirt and contaminants off, filled little chips with Famowood, and lightly hand-sanded the top with 600 grit paper. The resulting finish seems somewhat oily and cannot take poly finishes, so maybe it's not for your 'high-traffic' areas... A single can did a small teak dining table saving some money and a lot of work.

Our front door was looking a little weathered, but stripping and refinishing would have been overkill. Howard's Restore-A-Finish was just the ticket. It worked very well, and now the door looks like it was renewed and refinished.

I moved a dining set in an open trailer. The legs poked through the tarp and were soaked by the rain. Howard's took the white water marks off and restored the wood to a beautiful luster.

I used the product on a cherry buffet/hutch. It worked well on little dings and scratches, especially when used with very fine steel wool. It did not, however, make the white rings disappear but neither did products specifically made for that purpose.

I am impressed with restore-a-finish. I am sanding and re-staining my abused kitchen cabinets, but all cabinet doors do not need the complete sand/restain/poly treatment. Restore-a-finish is a fantastic help with cleaning and restoring my cabinets. It is not changing the color, so my restined cabinets match my restore-a-finish cabinets. One important note is that you cannot apply polyurathane over Restor-a-Finish, so I need to keep track of which cabinets receive the restore-a-finish. I ordered a pint to try it out, and I am back again to order more!
