I purchased this to attached toe strips to a staircase I restored (in leu of using finishing nails). I wanted a way to attached to toe strips that was faster and easier than nails or screws. Also, I wanted to finish (shellac and varnish) the toe strips before installation and didn't want to have to fill nail holes with putty and then try to match the finish over the putty.
The HiPurfomer worked exceptionally well for this application. I used the adhesive that sets in 75 seconds (one of three included in the kit), which gave me enough open time to get the glue onto the toe strips yet set fast enough that I only had to hold the strips in place for 30 seconds or so.

This product is superior. I have a method of teasing the glue cartridge with a small drill when it gets a little picky, but once it is flowing smoothly it will remain that way to the end. This gluing system and the MP75 adhesive have literaly saved my company. The glue is the most expensive component in our product, but it makes our product far superior to what it was in the early days.

I have gone through many glue guns in 20 years, and this one is the best! I am using it for crafts (all kinds of different mediums, using MP75 glue) and this gun has yet to let me down. The glue (tube) is expensive but it saves me so much time that it is worth it to me. Read all the instructions and follow them carefully! If you are ready to get serious about glue guns and quit wasting your time with cheap ones from big box stores, give this glue gun a chance. I think you will be very pleased.

Excellent product for quick bond applications, with excellent joint strength. However, you must make sure the surfaces being bonded are not cold to begin with, as this will significantly reduce the assembly time, perhaps to the point where it cures to fast to allow a bond. Shelf life once open is not great, so try to line up all your projects for it ahead of time. At [price] per tube, it is significantly more expensive than regular wood glue.

I love my high quality glue gun. I have been looking for a glue gun of this type for quite some time. My wife bought it for me for Christmas, and I love it. Thanks Rockler for making such a superior product.

I've used or owned most every kind of glue and fastener system that’s out there. I don't see how in the world this thing is getting these 5 star ratings. The glues are not as strong as advertised and half of the glue cartridges I purchased were already half way cured even though the expiration date was months away. Because of this, I say its way over priced and I’m sending mine back. If the glue was stronger and did not have a problem with shelf life, I would keep it and say it’s worth its weight in gold. But it’s not. I’m sticking (no pun intended) with polyvinyl acetate, polyurethane and epoxy.
