Super easy one handed extension. As you pull on one half, the other side moves away.
The 28'' slide can handle two 12'' leaves, and the 38'' model can handle three 12'' leaves or two 18'' leaves. Slides measure 3'' wide by 2-3/8'' high and have built-in rack and pinion assemblies.

Equalizer slides work perfectly. Excellent quality.

I had build a 58" round table with a single pedestal base, and as an afterthought decided to put a leaf - 2 actually - to accommodate 10 people instead of the 6 it would fit today. I cut the table in half and cut a plywood base to hold mount the slides on. The slides come pre-drilled to mount to both the base and the table. It truly opened 38" to hold my 2 18" sections. I also purchased some Align-N-Locks to line up and hold the sections together. I would definitely recommend this product.

I fitted the equalizer slides on a 1890's Hastings table! They replaced the originals perfectly. I am very pleased. Thanks Rockler for quality work and expedient service.

I like the quality of the slides but I need to repair a double pedestal table, and the 28" slides were too short. I reordered the longer set but am still not sure that they will work in my application. I couldn't find anyy technical info to clear this up.
Editor's note: This type of slide can be use on any table where the base/leg structure of the table is stationary and does not move when the table is opened. If the leg structure moves when the tops are opened then these won't work as the equalizer feature will conflict with the pressure of the other end of the table against the floor.

I recently purchased some table hardware from you and I thought I would let you know how the project came out. We needed an extension table that was only about 36" wide, about 56" long (without leafs) and about 92" long with leafs. It seats 6 comfortably unextended and 10 extended. I also wanted to be able to store the leafs in the table and I wanted four legs. In order to store two 18" leafs and keep the table to 36" wide took some thinking. Although, I have 2 1'4" legs, there was barely enough room for the 1 7/8" corner braces, so I used two of them. I had to make a bigger chamfer of the legs to compensate. Because the legs cannot rest on the sliding top, I put a steel angle in each corner for the leg vertical limit. Because I wanted to store the leafs, only the top moves. Thus, I used the extension slide, normally used for pedestal tables. I had to cut slots in the end frame for the extension rods to pass through. Because of the narrowness of the side overhang, I could not use the normal leaf clamps that you sell, so I used simple trunk latches. Finally, I had to make clearance holes through the bottom plate to have access to the mounting holes for the table top. All in all, it worked out great. Also, the table top, leafs, and the bottom plate were made from one piece of 4' x 8 ' 3/4" oak plywood (with almost no waste).
"Recieved our order of glass and wire mesh. All items arrived intact, which was no surprise considering the impressive packaging.
I've dealt with what many companies consider appropriate packaging, which, at best is hit-and-miss.
The packaging methods you folks employ are second to none.
Thank you.
