The self adhesive velvet worked great in my recent project. Very easy to install and the adhesion was strong. The velvet has a very nice soft feel to it and in my case, the green velvet added a nice element to my project as a whole. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. And I already have!

I have used the velvet for about six years for about 100 jewelry and keep sake boxes and have had great success with it each time. Nothing could be easier to add a professional look to the boxes.

I really liked using this product. It was very easy to use and looks great. It really completed the small jewelry box I created, giving it a professionally made look. I found the size to be perfect, but I agree if I was doing a larger project, larger sheets would be great. It came in a tube, so you don't have to worry about creases. My son and I are working on 2 spice box jewelry cabinets and we will be using this along with the ring rack very soon. Great color options, but would love to see purple as well.

I highly recommend this product.

I like using this velvet in the boxes I create. Nice colors and easy to cut and install. It would be REALLY nice if it were available in larger sheets since I always seem to get alot of waste left over when using the 12"x24" sheets that it comes in. I have noticed that the price has increased a couple of times recently during the last several months.
I also use leather to line some of my box interiors...but the leather has to be glued in with contact cement and is more time consuming

Great product, easy to use. This is my second time using it. First I used it in a jewelry box, this time in a display case. Had no trouble either time, just use a utility knife to cut, take careful measurements and your good to go. Much easier to work with than non-adhesive products out there, that require you to use a spray adhesive for instance. With this there is no mess... Price is a little steep, and unfortunately they carry them in bigger sheets. Overall its worth every penny, I would definitely buy this again.

Nice product, but EXTREMELY difficult to work with. Material stretches far to easily, even when just removing the paper backing. The adhesive is incredibly strong and causes problems because it will stick easily to everything, especially your fingers. I have started sticking the material on poster board and then gluing it to the project.

Here are some tips on how to install. Use a utility knife with a new blade, an accurate rule, a plastic triangle and a smooth piece of plywood. Cut paper side up, trim cut the material to ensure squarness. Accuratly measure space and cut to those dimensions. Peal off paper being careful not to let material fold over and stick to itself- yuo'll never get it apart. DO NOT try to install directly- you'll end up with a mess. Spray a light, even mist of WINDEX to adhesive suface and then install. The windex will allow some movement to work into sides and cornres before adhesion and will not prevent proper adhesion.

Great product that cuts and installs in seconds. Much easier to use than the non-adhesive style. Highly recommended although pricey!

This is my second use of this excellent material. I made the jewelry chest using the plan from a popular woodworking magazine and then decided to make another one with a modified ring bar feature that tilts open to reveal more space and includes a lift out earring box. The product is easy to work with and cut. The self adhesive backing sticks tenaciously and obviously I needed a little more of it for this modified box. Very high quality material and worth every penny.

This top quality product is very easy to cut with precision using a quilter's rotary cutter, quilter's ruler and cutting board. Shipped in a tube, the sheets were perfect. Thanks.

I made a jewelry box/bank for my new grand-daughter, using the mail box door and the adhesive velvet on the top and inside the small drawers. Also used the brass coin slot. All worked great, and it was a hit.
Super-stick adhesive. Should last a life-time.
I also made the mail truck from your pattern and parts for her twin brother.
Another hit.

This is a great product. I am so glad I found it. It worked very well with no problems. I read about someone having an issue cutting it, but I found if you use a utlity knife you should have no issues. I would recommend this to anyone having a project they want to add a touch of class to.

I have no complaints about the quality of the velvet and use it exclusively for all of my boxes. However, I’ve found that you cannot rely on the color consistency between one order and another. I sometimes have gotten a darker blue than other times. A similar problem occurs when ordering matching ring nests. I currently am lining one of my boxes and discovered that the ring nest I bought separately at a different time than the roll velvet  is a darker blue than the velvet. However, that ring nest does match some other roll velvet that I had left over from an earlier order. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough of it to use with the darker ring nest. So I’ll just have to accept a ring nest that will not match the rest of the velvet. So because of this, I’m only going to rate the product as fair and with caution.

The product was a very nice quality. The only problem I found with it was cutting it to fit my project. I would suggest using a VERY sharp blade when cuttting it! Other than that I was very pleased. It was also nice that the sheets came rolled in a tube, and not folded.

This project used both the Blue Self-Adhesive Velvet and the Blue Ring Bar. It was nice to have several choices of colors. My Daughter wanted blue. Project is from July 2009 Wood Magazine and is build out of Walnut. Material was easy to work with and of high quality.

The adhesive velvet worked perfectly to help turn a small vintage table with drawers and a deep bin on either side that belonged to my late mother into a jewelry armoire for my daughter. The velvet is so easy to work with and is ideal for projects such as this. I love the fact that it is shipped in a tube so that no creases can ruin the appearance of a project. I highly recommend it and will buy it again.

This product is so easy to install and looks great. I used it for the lining of an oak box for a vintage riflescope, and it would look just as nice in any fine jewelry box or the like. Highly recommended.

This is the easiest application of velvet liners for a jewlry box ever. A little fumbling to get the sheet started on the first edge but can be pulled off and corrected without loss. Someone in shipping sent my first order in a tube, but then the second order came with a rubber band around it and the roll loose in the box. Both bad ideas for soft fabric - the edges were dinged and the rubber band left a wrinkle in the fabric. Lucky the sheet was large for my project.

I recently built this curly maple jewel box and lined it with your self-adhesive black velvet and also put in a black padded velvet ring bar. This really added a wonderful finishing touch to the project. I also found that the velvet adheres really well. Great stuff. I'll keep using it.

I love this stuff. I make a lot of fancy boxes and I've tried everything else to stick liners in - glue is messy and spray glue comes loose after time. I wondered if this stuff would be sticky enough, but believe me, it's sticky. Think duct tape adhesive on steroids. I did 16 boxes at once with it, and the first one was a learning process, since it will stick tight to anything that it firmly touches including your fingers, but if you use things like the point of a pocket knife and pins to handle it, it is pretty easy to work with. I highly recommend it and the self-adhesive felt.

I used this to line the back of my wife's jewelry armoire I made, and it looks great. I used black, and the few places where I did get a crease can only be found by the maker. My sheets were shipped flat and looked great. It is pretty forgiving stuff, once stuck down it can be picked up and reapplied if necessary.

I have used this product on two occasions, both for jewelry boxes. This time, I made 5 boxes of various woods. The look and feel is excellent and I am vary happy with it. In order to apply the product to the bottom of a box, I use some heavy card stock cut precisely to shape, apply the velvet to it and trim. This is dropped into the box where I have already spread rubber cement. It works great.

I love this stuff! It has a fine feel to it, and it is easy to cut and install. It will take any project up a notch in its final finish. Adhesion is excellent even on bare wood and the colors offered are rich in appearance. It will cut the assembly time of any project. This is true for all the colors offered.

I custom design, hand craft and carve decorative boxes for people. I've only used the velvet from Rockler, because I can't find it in small quantities anywhere else. And I've only used the blue because (my opinion) it's the only color available that really enriches the appearance of mahogany and walnut. Although the product I have used is great, I think that the color choice is sorely lacking a wine or burgundy color.

This is the 2nd time I have ordered this product..I like using it...However in both shipments the velvet had a big crease down the middle of it that would not come out and I could not use... This caused me to loose about 2 inches of velvet down the middle of the sheet...More care in shipping is needed...

Editor's note: We'll ask our shipping not to fold these sheets when packaging.
