This precision hand-held metal detector can save you from costly damage to blades, planers, cutter heads, and jointers by detecting nails, screws, staples, or other metal objects in wood. It’s perfect for scanning recycled wood as well as for locating wood studs inside of walls. The Little Wizard is lightweight, rugged, and easy to operate. Indicators include a speaker and LED red lights. To operate, simply adjust the dial on the Little Wizard until the tone signal stops, position and move in a circular motion. A continuous tone and light will let you know when you’re directly above any metal object.
The Little Wizard can easily be fine-tuned or adjusted to your environmental conditions too.
Requires one 9 volt battery. High impact plastic case.

Works great as a stud finder, with a little practice it helps to pin-point the exact location of the nail that it's attracting and hopefully to locate the center of the stud.

Easy to use. Nice design. Helped us find the studs under our lath and plaster. Will have many uses as we update and maintain our older home.

This unit has already paid for itself. I have only had the metal detector for 2-weeks but it saved my plane head twice by detecting a staple and a small nail in wood I was about to plane.

Great little metal detector that is value priced. I used it to locate counter sunk screws hidden by a laminate surface.

The sensitivity is extremely poor, the only thing I will be using this for is a paper weight.

This item does exactly what I hoped for, and then some. It was sensitive enough to detect pin-brads, 1" below the surface of an armoire's pine crown-molding, which I had to remove. Of course, it also detected brads, and screws. Needless to say, I resorted to prying off the molding, instead of ruining any number of different blades, I would have used.
