1) Submitted by Kip, from Clyde, NY on 1/10/2010 Customer Rating: I have used this product for finishes on turkey call strikers and found it be very fast and easy. It produces a high luster on dense woods but multiple coats are needed on softer woods to achieve the same results. Fingerprints are an issue if drying time is not adequate. I have also used this as a base coat on bowls to fill minor scratches or stubborn end-grain. Hides imperfections very well.

It produces an nice medium shine if you go at least to a 4000 grit sand paper. It also works great for covering small sanding marks. I have noticed that you sometimes need to leave it overnight to prevent fingerprint marks. On hard wood like Cocobolo it works great, but on softer woods such as Walnut burl, it can leave a matte finish. For my customers that want a pen that has a natural wood finish, this is what I use.
