Sudoku is a popular number puzzle consisting of a 9 x 9 grid divided into rows, columns, and 3 x 3 boxes. Each puzzle begins with a few numbers already in place, with the object of the game being to fill in the remaining spaces so that each row, column and 3 x 3 box contains every number from 1-9.
