Greatly reduce the potential for shrinkage, warping, twisting, and rot with thermally modified Red Oak Thermowood®! The technologically-advanced Thermowood process actually ''cooks'' the Red Oak with heat and water vapor to eliminate much of the warping, twisting and cracking that can result in wood naturally over time. The Thermowood process also eliminates the need for chemical treatment because most of the natural occurring sugars are removed along with the moisture and sap, substantially reducing the threat of attack from insects and rot fungi. The result is beautiful Red Oak that weighs less, holds stains and other coatings extremely well and performs exceptionally well in outdoor environments such as doors, windows, decking, garden furniture, and exterior claddings. For internal use, the attractive appearance, stability and removal of resin makes the product a good choice for use in saunas, interior panels, furniture and flooring. Measures 25/32" thick with one edge straight line ripped and is offered in random lengths and widths.
