Introduction to The Router - with John Weeks
Overview: The student will learn about one of the most versatile woodworking tools out there, the router. This class is designed for the student with little or no experence in the use of the router.The class will focus on using the router as a hand held power tool and as a stationary tool mounted in a router table. Exploring Hand Cut Dovetails. - with Dave Fleming
Overview: Description: In this class the student will learn the steps necessary to create custom hand cut dovetails joints. The student is required to bring their own handsaws and chisels. Check with store for required tools. A portion of the class will be spent discussing and demonstrating how to maintain your tools. All materials are provided. Student needs to bring a pair of safety glasses. Skill Level: Intermediate Class Fee: $60 |

Introduction to Turning - with John Weeks
Overview: This is the class for the first time turner or anyone with limited experience in turning. The student will be introduced to the lathe and many of the common tools used in wood turning. turning between centers including the proper use of a variety of turning tools.The student will learn a variety of techniquesin turning between centers including sharpening tools. Hand Applied Finishes - with Dave Fleming
Overview: One of the most important and often overlooked aspects of woodworking is how to apply a quality finish. It is the finish that celebrates the work that has gone into creating any woodworking project. Learn how to create a finish that both protects and enhances your piece. The class will focus on aspects such as surface preparation, application of stain, and the use of topcoats. All materials are included. Student needs to bring a pair of safety glasses. Machine Made Dovetail Joints - with Ron Stephens
Overview: Description: Learn the techniques necessary to make machined half blind dovetail joints and through dovetails. Half blind joint is most commonly used in drawer construction. Through dovetails are used for box construction. Although the class will use the Rockler Dovetail, differences with the Porter Cable Dovetail jig will be discussed. Each student will be given the opportunity to set up and practice each joint. All materials are included. Students need to bring their own safety glasses and hearing protection. Skill Level: Beginner Class Fee: $60 |

Building Plantation Shutters - with Pat Jones
Overview: "Description: Building shutters has traditionally been a process that required a lot of set up work, jigs and other assembly devises that made for a demanding and challenging process. With the introduction of the Rockler Shutter system much of this has changed. Most woodworkers with modestly outfitted shops can produce shutters that rival custom made shutters at a fraction of the cost. Each student will learn all of the steps necessary to design and build plantation shutters. The student will walk away with a shutter that they have built. Shutter making materials are included. Student will need to provide their own Rockler Shutter Template kit as well as a pair of safety glasses. " Skill Level: Intermediate Class Fee: $60 |
